The food was pretty good. It was certainly not in any way justified of the prices. And some of it was working really way too... hard. For example my duck tortellini as my middle course... Five tortellini in brodo, which were all a little undercooked. Thepork cheeks were amazing. But there were three small pork cheeks and served with grits. Not exactly what I'm looking for when Iget a $200 bill for one person. Very convenient while I was staying at the hotel. But I'm not sure I would repeat. Read more
Great breakfast. Great service. Beautiful view. This was the best meal we had on our visit to the Adirondacks. Very relaxing... and enjoyable...we ordered an omelette and eggs over with bacon. Read more
Beautiful place. Very warm and comfortable. The set up and service are amazing. The staff was delightful. The food itself was a... bit disappointing, the first course was ok. The second we had the duck tortellini and fried rizzoto both were very bland andunder seasoned. The last course we had the steak fillet and chicken, the steak was under seasoned but the chicken was very good.Over all the service was amazing but the food not so much. With a very hefty price tag. Absolutely superb dinner at The View! The restaurant itself is beautiful with a perfect view of Mirror Lake. The service was... impeccable. Our meal was delicious! They even acknowledged my birthday with a surprise dessert with Happy birthday in chocolate!Perfect evening! Read more
Lovely setting and lovely service but unfortunately the food was average. Very expensive for average food. We would not go... back. Also none of our four meals were hot! My chicken was overdone and cold. The steak was tender and the pot roast was tastybut the meat was a bit hard. Read more
Such a cute restaurant for a romantic dinner date when you are in the lake placid area. Even though the restaurant is not right... on the lake, it has great views of mirror lake. The meal is served in 3 courses and uses many local ingredients. You don’thave to order all 3 courses if you’re not hungry though. The first and second courses were excellent. The final Entree disheswere huge and I probably could have just ordered one entree and been satisfied. The wine list is extensive and very good.Service was excellent as well. Read more
We had a really wonderful experience at The View. We went to celebrate our one year anniversary of living in the Adirondacks.... Caleb was our waiter and he was friendly and attentive, but not hovering. The appetizers and mains were excellent and thedessert was good. The only thing we noticed is the background music was pretty low and could have been a bit louder because thedining room seemed a little too quiet. Overall, a fantastic evening and we will definitely be back. Read more
