Our first time here since the change. We had a really great lunch experience. The interior is much nicer, more contemporary and... very comfortable. The crab cake sandwich and BLT special were both excellent choices. Our server was bright, enthusiastic andquick. So happy to see a great “new” local place. We will definitely be back! Read more

The menu is stellar. I had a very difficult time selecting which app and entree I wanted to go with, because there are so many... great choices. Ultimately, I had the French onion soup and Chilean Sea Bass, and my husband had the Seared Ahi Tuna. Both fishabsolutely melted in your mouth, and were cooked to perfection. The service was great too. We had a great waiter and theatmosphere was perfect for a date night. Can’t wait to go back to try other items on the menu. Read more

I went here with a large group for dinner. The food was delicious, however they had a difficult time handling us as 13 people. ... We had 2 separate tables and food came out at different times. I'm still giving 4 stars for service because the waitresscommunicated that this would be a challenge before we even ordered. It really wasn't that big of a deal, but wanted to give aheads up! If we had not been told and then provided updates throughout, then stars would be lower. All in all, I woulddefinitely go back to this place, but probably with a max of 8 people! Read more

I gave this place two chances before making up my mind. My second visit sealed the deal. I dined regularly at inn of the hawke... which was at this same location for over 20 years. Never even noticed a problem with bees while eating outside. The first time Iwent to The Hawke (different restaurant/owners) tons of bees circling the table, so much so you could barely eat your meal.Second visit, bees again but not as many bc it’s colder. Then I realized why - the hawke uses this overpoweringly fragrancedtable cleaner in between guests. It is so perfumed with lavender fragrance, not only is it nauseating to smell while eating ameal but it also lingers & attracts the bees! Why use a heavily perfumed cleaner in a dining area while patrons are eating?I’ve never ever smelled anything like that while dining at a restaurant. My first visit I thought a neighbor was doinglaundry, and I thought it was odd because at this same location, I’d never smelled it before while eating outside. As soon aswe were seated the second time, I smelled it again, and then saw that purple spray bottle being used next to us. On to thefood, first visit -burger was unimpressive, fries were very good and hot. Second visit- onion rings were good, overpriced shrimptaco special was underwhelming, but it took very long for our food to come out, so I started eating right away without reallypaying attention. When I went to eat the third taco I saw a hair in the food. It was mixed into the cabbage slaw and was notmine. Instantly turned my stomach. I told the waitress and she offered a new taco but I said no thank you, my appetite’s beenput off by that. Brings out the bill-no discount given, not even a $1 off the taco that I couldn’t eat, so we paid $20 for anorder of tacos with hair in it. That’s disgusting to me. I will note that I’m not a Karen & tipped her 20% because she was avery good server but this visit left a bad taste in my mouth literally and figuratively, and I won’t be returning. Read more

An absolutely amazing experience from start to finish! I didn’t know what to expect. We chose The Hawke because it was a... midway point for my mom and her sister. We wanted a place with good food that could accommodate our party of 12! The staffplaced us at one large table in a nook that felt like a private room. Our server, Linda, was professional, helpful, knowledgeable, sweet and accommodating!! She’s a rock star! She made great recommendations, cut and served Mom’s birthdaycake, and was patient with our group which ranges in age from 3-95! Everyone enjoyed their meals! Thanks to everyone at TheHawke for an awesome day! Read more

I came in here just to grab a drink and go and the food was exquisite . The drinks we’re nice strong but packs a nice kick.... There was some guy running around bar helping out and he was doing a really good job. I even told him about good hes doing andhe just said thank you and went on with his work. Everything in this restaurant looks smoothly run. You cant even tell if thereare issues. I recommend coming here. As I will be back as well. Read more

Remembered this spot from years before covid and it didn't disappoint! There is great outdoor dining on the patio and we got a... beautiful autumn night! The Germanic'ish food is delicious and I loved the bread pudding (the menu also has loads of burgers andsalad), though so wish they had a more family friendly selection. Service was also fantastic! Pretty great beer menu. Greeted atthe door, waited for the table by the bar (not many masks there) and got drinks quickly. Our table only took 10 minutes to getready, and we didn't get any side looks for wearing masks. This place is even great for families with kids, as there were atleast 4 kids there on a Friday night. Everyone was pleasant and friendly, even among the masked and mask-less. Love when covidexperiences are positive! Highly recommend! Read more

Beautiful outdoor, private and spacious dining patio and nice pub style inside bar! Decor seems beautifully colonial and... tributes to river life and history is in the walls!! Excellent food, changing menu and nice draft selection highlighting localbreweries. Read more
