EDIT: the food is really good. At really good prices. If I still lived nearby, I would frequent this spot for the food. I... changed my rating to 4 Stars. Original review: I love bubble tea. Due to the pandemic, I haven?t had an opportunity to get itanywhere. Really glad this place was open and I was able to just walk in and order a black sugar latte to go. Unfortunately,it was awful. Really wish to have just waited to go to Tiger Sugar or the Alley. It was a waste of $5.50 and would never reallyvisit this establishment for anything else. My boyfriend and I love Bubble World and we have been going to the New West and Surrey locations at least twice per month. I... have been to this location on 88th for drinks with friends before and had no issues. Today, August 1st at 7pm was the worstexperience we have had to date. My boyfriend and I sat down at 7pm and the younger gentleman (he had longer hair) serving usgave us our menus and a jug of water. We noted the restaurant was very busy. For the next 30 minutes we tried to wave down ourwaiter to place our orders. But he kept walking by our table. Eventually by 7:30, my boyfriend went to the front counter toorder. As my boyfriend tried to speak to him, the waiter turned his head pointedly and ignored my boyfriend. After thisexchange, we got up and left. The restaurant had cleared down to about half capacity by the time we left. There was no reason toignore us for 30 min. I understand it is BC Day and the restaurant was full when we arrived, but to not acknowledge orcommunicate with your patrons is rude. We were prepared to spend $50 on food and were very disappointed. We noticed the othergirl on shift was running around to all the tables and doing a great job. Food was hot and delicious, certain menu items had a small portion for the price but overall it was very good. Would come again.
Came here with group of friends then hoped to be treated with service. Some hot pot was okay, but this dish call chicken nuggets... was too salty and oily, it should be reduced salty when you marinated chicken. The server girl with glass was not in the goodmood yesterday we came. Please keep your energy when doing your job. Read more
This Bubble World location is an absolute disappointment and embarrassment to Taiwanese food. I ordered: Two bubble... waffle Mango milk tea slush with pearls Milk tea with pearls Chicken nuggets The bubble waffle tasted like someone made it withregular waffle batter. It wasn?t soft and chewy. It didn?t taste light and eggy. It was dry, brittle, tasted like store-boughtwaffle mix. This is hands down THE WORST bubble waffle I?ve ever had in my life. The milk tea tasted like it was made of 85%milk and 15% tea. Despite requesting less ice, it tastes highly watered down. I don?t understand. Milk tea is the classicbubble tea, and it?s next to impossible to mess up. Yet you somehow managed to mess it up?. The mango slushy was poorlyblended. It separated into two layers within 5min of us leaving the store. The ice layer had decently large chunks of ice leftin the drink?. The chicken has absolutely zero flavor. The only thing you could taste was salt. Not consistently salty either.Some pieces had significantly more salt than others. Summary, out of the locations I?ve been to in Richmond, Vancouver, andBurnaby. This is by far the worst location I?ve ever been to. Corporate should check in with this store or shut them down. Ordered delivery and it came well packaged, with holes in the boxes to keep it fresh- it was delicious, crisp and hit when it... arrived. The food was delicious, especially the salt and pepper chicken nuggets. The chicken cutlet with plum sauce was alsoquite tasty. The bubble tea was delicious and refreshing. We have ordered take out/delivery 5-6 times now and it has been exceptional and delicious each time. They have a huge menu and,... although we haven?t been adventurous enough to try the popular intestine dishes, we?ve tried many items and they?re always soflavourful and fun. Read more
