Very nice people. Did forget to bag one of my gravy sauces, and forgot to provide the 100 dollar plus receipt. However, they... have delicious semi-frozen turkeys and all the fixings. Sandwich and pot pie almost 30 bucks not sure how that adds up... Sandwich was good but the pie was quite bland with no... seasoning and somehow dry. You get gravy with it but still... 6/10 Read more
Have been going every Saturday for lunch for the last 5 years. Sadly last Saturday will be last visit. Used to be a very... friendly atmosphere but staff especially the supervisor runs hot and cold. I was shocked by the price increases. I found them tobe quite drastic and when I asked if there was a reason for such increases was told everyone else has raised their prices so wedid too. Last week 2 sandwiches cost 19 dollars, yesterday I paid 27 dollars for the same 2 sandwiches. I cannot imagine afamily of 4 paying 108 dollars for 4 sandwiches. I am a business owner and understand the need for increasing prices but maybe adollar an item would be more in keeping with what you are getting. Best of luck Read more
Prior to this year, we have always ordered our fresh Christmas turkeys from Costco and the turkeys have been very moist and... tender. This year in early December, when Costco couldn't give us assurance that they would have sufficient stock of freshbirds, we decided to place an order with Westlynn Meats. We picked the fresh 13# bird supplied by JD Farms up on Dec. 22 andcooked it Xmas day. We noticed right away in unwrapping the turkey that part of one wing, my wife's favourite part, wasmissing. To us this suggested this was a utility bird, not the grade A bird we had paid a very high price for. We cooked thestuffed bird at 350 for about 4 hours until it was nicely browned, to an internal temperature of about 170, and let it stand for1/2 hour. Using my regular carving knife which I always sharpen prior to carving, the meat in the breast was very difficult tocut evenly coming off in strings, not nice carved slices. The meat was tough and the breast meat had a greyish appearance. Itwas a most disappointing experience. We will not purchase a turkey supplied by JD Farms again. Read more
I ordered a small fresh turkey for pick up. The process was very easy and organized staff were super friendly, and the store had... great COVID measures in place. The turkey itself turned out really well, very different from the usual ones, a lot more leaner,and the skin was thin and crispy after it was done, didn't have a thick layer of fat underneath. It reminded me of the turkeythat we would get at my grandma's when she used to raise her own. Read more
