Normally a huge fan of this restaurant but last night was an utter disappointment. The staff were amazing, as always, it was the... food that was totally lacking. Not sure if the normal chef had the night off but the chowder was extremely watery. So much sothat we had to return it. The wagyu steak was definitely not worth the amount we paid. I realize that the price is for the meatbut I expected a little more presentation for a $150 plate. The meat was tender as advertised but I couldn?t believe the amountof salt put on there. Same for the halibut. I like the S&L chain so I?ll probably eventually go back as this is the first timeI?ve been disappointed here. Read more
Today my wife and I 3rd time tried this restaurant .server Avery. was amazing .... Ordered 5 items from happy hour menu . The best brunch my mom and I could ask for! Everything was so delicious, from the avocado toast to the steak. The steak was... cooked perfectly! The ambiance is beautiful. From the comfortable seats to the cleanliness of the restaurant, this made anabsolute difference in our Saturday morning. The server and hosts were so friendly as well! I had lunch here a few days ago. The service was great. The place has a nice vibe to it. The master chicken sandwich done... spicy was great as well as the wagyu beef dip. It is a little on the pricier side for what your get and the portions. Read more
I went here for dine out Vancouver. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great and the menu selection has a lot of variety. I had... the croquettes for the appetizer and they were quite tasty. I had the chicken for the main which was a bit disappointing. Thebarley was quite chewy and didn't add to the dish at all, but the chicken was fairly tasty. The cake though, was absolutelydelicious. It was fun to try a variety with the dine out Vancouver menu, but unfortunately I found the price a bit high for whatwe got. Read more
This is a higher end place for food prices but we found the food to be just ok. I had their signature cheeseburger with the... garden salad, the cheeseburger was good but the salad was amazing. My friend had an eggs Benedict and both his eggs wereoverdone, no yolk ooze, that was disappointing. The truffle omelette was nice but the eggs were a bit hard as well. second time here at this location as a visitor from Toronto. I was able to make same day reservations on open table and luckily... get in for a Friday evening! This time we were seated in a cozy corner of the restaurant and was nice to be able to have aconversation. We started off with the crab cakes as an app and then i got the ravioli with scallops and my friend got the steakmeal. I really liked my pasta minus the the scallops that were cold. I really appreciated how attentive the server was andoffered to get fresh new ones - given how hungry I was I didn?t fuss over it (because i didn?t want to wait) but she ended uphaving it taken off the bill which was much appreciated. I learnt something new about the wine - it?s made to be shook beforebeing drank and it completely changes the flavour of the wine (in a good way) As last time - great experience and service!Really hoping for a location to come to Toronto. Absolutely amazing food and service. We started out with the potato pull apart which was delicious and then I got a medium top... sirloin which was cooked to perfection and potato gnocchi and fries on the side. Fries were alright but the gnocchi was soooogood. friend got two crab rolls and a lobster roll which she says were great. Would totally recommend. Read more
