Good place for pub grub and decent drinks. A nice little dining room in back if you don't want to sit at the bar.

A local friend invited me, saying it has the best food in the area. The food is definitely great, I had the taco burger and... wanted seconds to go. The low rating is because BY NO FAULT OF STAFF, the service is slow. There's two people at night, to runa full bar, and table service in the back. Table by me got orders taken before us, because server didn't seem to know. They alsogot an order wrong. Why? Too busy for one person in the front and one for food, even though they seem to shareresponsibilities. I can tell by the energy of staff that management is NOT tolerable. I heard one of them had to pull a double.Management should be in there with them, helping keep things tolerable: no about of server pay is good enough to cover the workthese people do, while management reaps the income. They need to hire additional help, or get in there themselves: otherwise,staff will find a job WORTH their effort, with less effort spent. Food and drinks here are great... But from principle ofobvious abuse of staff, this place is doomed. Go to the one a few blocks west (forget the name) where management is kind. Read more
We went here because Jim Thorpe and the surrounding area was insanely busy anf you couldn't even get in town. I am so glad we... found this little gem. I had the best cheesesteak I have ever eaten! My Coal Miners cheesesteak had marinara, onion rings, andmozarella sticks and wow..I ate evety bite. The service was a little slow only because they had a huge rush (probably peopledoing the same thing we were) all at once but the girls couldn't be friendlier. The drinks were awesome and the decor wasreally cute. They are doing a contest for their homemade halloween drinks. My boyfriend had the Coal Miners burger and couldonky eat about 1/2 brcsuse it was so big. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area and you can't beat the prices. Read more
