The food was good, the service is really bad. They seated us -5 adults and 3 kids and gave us 5 glasses for water. We asked for... 3 more cups for the kids and a carafe of water for the table and she brought the carafe and not the cups. We ordered 2appetizers and the kids food with the kids sides the waitress said were options and we ordered our adult beverages. The foodarrived -no plates for the appetizers, still no cups and no adult beverages. We asked again and received the plates but no cupsor adult beverages. We were sharing our glasses for the water and after a very long time, we went to the bar to order our owndrinks and found them sitting there. The service never improved. The bill arrived and there was an additional $3 charge perkid meal ?$9 extra for the sides. The waitress checked with management and after a very long time, told us the sides weordered weren?t for the kids meals and she offered one $2.20 discount on one of the sides. All of this took an extremely longtime. The food was good, just putting up with the service is really frustrating. Read more

Better then recent reviews lead me to believe! Food was hot and reasonably priced for the food provided. Brie fondue bowl was... delicious. Wagu burger had a nice grilled flavor and beef tips were tender. Great service was provided by Leland ! Veryattentive to drink refills, didn?t rush us to place an order. The deck provided a nice view and atmosphere. The young men whobrought the food to the tables seemed to be confused on table numbers. Multiple times they were lost as to which table they wereto be delivering the food to. Definitely worth a try. Read more
Exceptional views and exceptional dining. It is rare to find a place surrounded by awe-inspiring views, exceptional service and... world class entrees. The Surf and Turf was the tenderest, most perfectly cooked steak I have ever eaten and the ginormous shrimpartfully balanced on top brought the art of plating to a master chef level. The asparagus was cooked to perfection. We ateoutside on a covered balcony with rain dripping and pouring, in a group of about 60, yet each steak came out hot, perfectlycooked and with amazing presentation. Shamefully after eating my fill of steak and sides I had a huge portion of blackberrycobbler served out of a cast iron frying pan, it too was the best. A few steps away were world class views of New River Gorge.That night the bridge was shrouded in clouds with lightning flashing overhead. An exquisite all around experience. Read more
I'm giving 3 stars, but only because the food was really good and because the food came out really quickly. We got there early,... right around 5pm. There was only one other couple sitting under the pavilion. One other group was seated while we were outthere. Our waitress only came to the table four times. Once to take our drink orders, once to bring bread, once to deliver ourfood, and then to bring the final check. She never asked us if we wanted any refills on our drinks and never refilled ourwaters. For the prices that this place charges, the service should be better. Food was great which makes up for some of that,but not all of it. Read more
Absolutely loved this place especially for dinner. The ambience was so beautiful and close to nature. There is a pool nearby if... you want to dine near the pool. You can also dine under a tree with a beautiful view of the river and the bridge. The food andthe service was great too. Read more
Update: 9/03/22 Went back for dinner since we were right across the street and was pleasantly surprised with the ribeyes. Cooked... properly, nicely seasoned, the mashed potatoes and asparagus were good too. The wait until we were helped was a bit longer thanI would have liked, but the servers are all on the young side and seemed inexperienced. Thankfully they are hiring and hopefullythey are able to get some more experienced wait staff. All in all, a vast improvement over the previous visit. Keep it upSmokey's! The experience at Smokey's has gone downhill drastically. What used to be an amazing gourmet experience has turnedinto a "breakfast buffet" that was outdone by shoneys, with a pricetag more in keeping with their old fare. When they changed toa menu instead of the chef prepared buffet, the food took a nosedive. Sad, as this used to be one of the best places to eat inthe state. Read more
