If I were to compare this to any other place then that place would be Roberto's and sadly enough, Don Tortaco is not the winner.... The food truly lacks flavor unless it's covered in some type of sauce and it's still missing the mark!. I actually got theopportunity to try more than a few things here because of our group and the various types of meals and single items ordered. Itried the Carne Asada fries and they were covered in way too much refried beans and sour cream, but really not much of anythingelse. The Carne Asada is completely flavorless!! Tried the cheese enchiladas and they were actually good, except for when thesauce cooled off it started to thicken. Tried some cheese casadilla and chicken casadilla and the ultimate winner was thechicken casadilla because it had something other than cheese on it. The Bean and cheese burrito is exactly what you get butmostly beans and a lot of tortilla. The wait for the food was a lot longer than our appetite because most of it just ended up inthe trash. Oh Yeah, Don Tortaco has a mystery ( surcharge ) that they add to every single purchase and nobody has a real honestanswer for what it was for!!. It was my first time coming for Taco Tuesday. My husband wanted to try it. Overall the chicken tacos are decent size for $1.59... and very flavorful. I also ordered a side of Chile relleno but it was ok and I had some better one. The server was so generouswith the side pickled vegetables and Chile sauce. The only negative thing I would say is the location. It resides in theintersection corner that has no immediate access. HORRIBLE SERVICE!! If you ask for extra salsa or carrots they give you a bad attitude! I have been here over 25 times because is... the closest to my home unfortunately and 98% of the time they give me the wrong order! Im starting to think they do it onpurpose!! Because after they give me the order they want my order back and they most likely eat it! and they when they give mea new one they put less food! Great service! Worderful employees. The food is fantastic. Every time I go in I'm welcomed with polite and kind attitudes of... employees that don't show or give off a feeling that they are unhappy or having a bad day and would rather be somewhere else. Ithink that is great to have and a very rare quality now adays in people. Also when every I go inside the place is spotless,sparkling clean. If I had to I could eat my food off the floor. I hate using the restroom in public places but if I have to usethe restroom at DON TORTACOS it's like as if I'm at or in my own at my house. Absolutely love this restaurant and highlyrecommend it to everyone one who likes, loves, or wants to try or experience top-shelf superb Mexican food.
