Great products that use locally sourced ingredients. I particularly love their chimichurri which goes great on almost... everything. I?d give them 5 stars but unfortunately I?m not a huge fan of their actual pickles which tend to be on the moreexperimental side. I?ve been hooked on their bacon grilled cheese with apple bourbon jam (#2) ! It?s amazing and the quality of their food is... wonderful. I bought a jar of the apple bourbon jam as well cause it?s so delicious. The bacon brussel sprouts are also amazing.The prices are fair and everyone is very nice !! Read more
I thought this was going to be good, it was unbelievable!!! The bacon grilled cheese was incredibly and has sweet with salt... blended perfectly. The pickle chips were different from the usual pickle chips and that's what made them so good. Make this yournumber one stop when looking for a new or different place if you haven't tried them yet. Had the best grilled cheese sandwich at their stand at the Neighborhood Flea in the Strip District! Crunchy French bread, gobs... of cheese and Dill pickle relish. So simple, but so good! Will make a point to stop by if I am in Latrobe. Read more
I am a connoisseur of grilled cheese sandwiches. They are my thing, and they rock my world. I can unequivocally say that The... Pickled Chef has THE BEST grilled cheese sandwiches I have ever had. I doubt I'll ever have one better. I could eat hereevery...single...day. They also have fantastic deep fried pickles and a spectacular selection of homemade canned goods. Farm to table. I love stopping here when I'm in the area the food is always top-notch had the fish and chips beer batter to... perfection in the fries were cooked and delicious try the coleslaw it is creamy and has a tangy flavor unlike any I've eaten. Could have had half the fries, half the Cole slaw and twice the fish. Put this place on your visit list. Supports localfarmers and are putting out quality pickled products! Read more
Stopped here while staying in the area visiting family. We were very surprised to find such an awesome restaurant in Latrobe. ... The grilled cheese sandwiches were cooked to perfection and the pickle fries were straight out of a county fair. The ownerswere very friendly and seem very passionate about their business, which shows through in their food. I highly recommend atleast giving this place a chance if you love a good grilled cheese. Pickled hot peppers- soggy or chewy. Horrible, very few peppers and they left the centers. Just a ripoff in a jar. Giant... waste of money, complete ripoff, and they didn't have much flavor. Ranch pickles- pretty decent, should be called pickles andonions. 35% of jar is onions. Over priced. Hot pepper pickles- ok. Not bad, not notable wouldn't waste money again forsure....over priced junk. Poorly done, over priced, generally im embarrassed I spent $70 supporting local this time. Read more
