SO I had to update my original review but I?m leaving it at the bottom. We ended up going to pay for our drinks and just leave,... I?m pregnant and I?ve been on my feet nonstop all day working. As we went to pay for our drinks and explain why to the ladybehind the register a manager overheard us and decided to step in. I think her name was Sarah, she was absolutely amazing. Sheoffered to pay and gave us an order of sweets as well. I would normally never like to go tell a manager I?d rather just leaveand go somewhere else but she was very insistent on us staying and eating the meal we originally ordered. The original waitressgot our order wrong but we were just happy to get food and it was very good like we knew it would be. Thank you so much Sarah wereally appreciate everything and we appreciate you as a manager! Okay so the only reason I?m giving two stars is because I knowthe food will be good. Yes will be because we?ve been here an hour and our waitress said she trashed our ticket and we had toreorder and now we are waiting all over again for our food to be cooked. She also messed up an order behind us and they justtold her to forget about it. She is polite but that only gets you so far when you just complete admit to trashing our ticketafter we?ve been here for like I said an hour. Read more
Maggie served us at lunch and makes the best tea ever. We tried the peach tea and it was incredible. The highlight of our meal!... I had the soup and salad combo very generous portions. Most diners left with to-go boxes. The best part is the selection of oldtimey candies and treats plus seasonal decor for sale. Check out the greeting cards so hilarious! You can never go wrong with a cracker barrel. My family stopped by on our way to North Carolina and had a good meal. Always the... old standards but they are homey and comforting. Our server, a "rising star" was friendly and efficient. I will always return toa barrel. Read more
Luke was the best server we have EVER had. 1. When trying to decide between sides, he offered suggestions based on... complementary flavors to my main course. 2. When the kitchen messed up my order, he caught it before it ever got to our tableand had it fixed. (I wasn't put on the spot to send it back.) 3. He had several tables, including a couple of big ones, yetnever forgot anything we asked nor brought it wrong. Many other little things he did that I cannot specifically recall at themoment made this a wonderful experience. Of course, the food was good, too, but the OUTSTANDING service made it so much better! We were on our way to SC and stopped here for brunch. They were a little busy. Due to being short staffed, food and service was... delayed. But it?s okay bc we understand. It?s the same everywhere. I ordered over the phone and got to the restaurant within 18 minutes. The front cashier had no idea about the order. She asked a... guy at the restaurants counter and he stated that he had too many customers to check. 10 min went by, still no order. I askedshould I reorder and she said it's coming. Still waiting a few more minutes while I watch the excellent customers service to theother customers, not the same greeting for me. The young guy eventually brought out my order with no tickets to pay. I couldhave left without paying, but due to I am a restaurant owner, I will never walk out on paying. I told the lady at the registerand had to give her my order again. No thank you for the wait, no expression when I told her I didn't pay for the food, nonothing. I paid for my order and she said next customer, like I was in the way. The next customers was greeted and complemented.Okay...I was very disappointed due to the food was cold and dry after waiting for it. Biscuits was hard, pancakes dry, sausagewas overcooked and tasted like beef jerky. Only thing I was able to eat was the grits and eggs. Everything else was thrown away.Big disappointment. I should have walked out on the bill. I will cook breakfast in my kitchen the next time. Read more
First time here. Pasting through stopped for lunch. The fish had flour batter. Too hard. The roast beef was great, very tender... and seasoned. The salad was fresh and delicious. The mac and cheese was ok, would rather have had yellow cheese instead ofwhite. The waiter was very understanding. The cornbread was good. We could have just ordered that with some soup and would ofdid better. Read more
