Easily 1pound of pure fat (check photo). I mean I ate some of the fat, actually tasted good. I just ordered the 2 meat platter... and both meats I choose brisket (extra 8$). The total bill was 42$ Literally had 3 bites of actual meat. I was robbed. Paid 42$for coleslaw, potato salad, and a double side of fat. I’m still hungry btw. Cornbread was stale AF. I’m not about puttinganyone down but this wasn’t cool. My 1st time I went here, it was amazing though; generous meat, warm n soft cornbread, it wasjust right. This brisket seems like it comes out of a crock pot though, not off the smoker. I recommend everyone go toSeymour’s in Berlin,Nj for authentic brisket. Rockchesters is worth a shot but it’s hit or miss I guess. I won’t be goingback here though. I worked hard for that 42$ Hopefully this review will make you serve an honest portion to everyone. Staff was friendly and the interior was very clean, but unfortunately that’s the only good thing we can say about our... experience. Our order was missing cornbread, the chopped BBQ had no flavor other than spice, the fried whiting was salty andtasted like it was fried in old oil or something (really weird aftertaste), the yellow rice was flavorless and soggy, and thegreen beans were painfully salty and soggy (canned likely). Their website isn’t up to date so we ordered sweet potato pie theyno longer carry. Instead of calling us they simply replaced it with a cobbler that was also gross. The only thing we managed toeat were the hush puppies. We deeply regret spending over $50 on a meal that we admittedly threw out because it was sounpalatable. I have been to this restaurant quite a few times and the food always tastes like leftover food. It doesn't taste freshly cooked... nor like fresh food. No wonder it's never busy when I went there. The only reason I returned to eat at Rochester's is because Iwent to some family meetings and they insisted on supporting your company. Out of 12 of us, no one ordered your nasty,overcooked ribs. I know. The truth hurts. You need to improve your food and give your customers fresh food cause that's whatthey are paying for. Me and the family just ate here and I have 1 word to describe it, PHENOMENAL! Everything is amazing but the brisket and... cornbread are Slammin'! Everyone is friendly and treat you like family. Very clean, the aromatherapy of the food sweeps throughout your mind soon as you walk in the door. The young lady was very... friendly and tge gentleman came out and made us comfortable with the music selection. The food was very well dis0layed andtasty. A friend and I stopped in a couple of weeks ago. We found Vinnie the Chef/Owner to be warm and welcoming. The soul food was... delicious, the portions were huge, and the prices were just right. Can't wait to go back! Read more

Edit: I just read the restaurant's response to my review. Their response stated that the chicken in the posted pictures were not... from their store and they requested to see a receipt. Why in the world would I lie about something like this? They seemed likesuch nice people. I'm so shocked at their response! Well...At their request, I have provided a snapshot (in the picture section)from my bank statement of my purchase that clearly shows the restaurant's name and the price that I paid for the food. Myreview: I have eaten at this restaurant 4 times over the last five years. Each time, I've been highly disappointed. I reallywanted to love this restaurant because the customer service is great, which is why I kept going back giving them chance afterchance. During my last visit, I purchased two platters and ended up throwing the food away when I got home. It was SOOOOdisgusting! All of it! The worst part of the meal was the fried chicken wings. They were burnt on the outside and pink on theinside. YUCK! I called the restaurant and complained to the owner (very nice man). He listened to my concerns and told me thatHE would cook a fresh batch of wings for me. Well...The second batch of wings was WORST than the first.
