During my visit at 11:00 AM at the Panda Express in Lawrence Kansas at Iowa & 33rd, I experienced multiple issues. 1: First... Impressions: Upon walking up to the line, barely half the hot food items were done. I had to wait over 12 minutes for the restof the food items to be cooked (Wife wanted certain items, you don't disappoint wife if there's a remote chance of getting thoseitems). This should already be done by the time the store is opened. 2: Employee Attitude: The attitudes of the employeeswere... 'meh' at beast. Not a single person smiling, and they all appeared to not want to be there. There was no apology oranything done to make the wait for the rest of the food worth it. 3: Employee Cleanliness: While waiting on my food, I watchedan employee, whom I am assuming is either the shift manager or some type of leader ( and whom was the one cooking), meet up withan Aramark uniform delivery service driver. The employee proceeded to touch the drivers mobile device to sign his name/initialsand then go right back to cooking without washing his hands. He then also used his bare hands to 'season' some of the food thatwas being placed onto the line. Had I not already paid for my food, I'd have walked out at that point. 4: Food Quality: Poor.While waiting on the rest of the food to cook, the already dished food was kept at the line where no heat lamps are located.That's 12 minutes sitting in a Styrofoam container cooling down. -- Bigger Plate 1: Half Fried Rice / Half Chow Mein | HoneyWalnut Shrimp | Broccoli Beef | Honey Sesame Chicken Breast ---- Rice was bland and undercooked. | Chow Mein was decent. | HoneyWalnut Shrimp was decent. | The Broccoli Beef needed to be cooked a bit longer, broccoli was very hard and the beef seemed to beluke-warm at best. | Honey Sesame Chicken Breast was mushy, bland, and dry. --Bigger Plate 2: Fried Rice | Honey Walnut Shrimp| Grilled Chicken Teriyaki | Honey Sesame Chicken Breast -------- Rice was bland and undercooke Read more
Went there today with hubby for dinner. This will be our 1st and last visit. I wanted to get a sample off a new item I haven't... seen before but he said "we don't give samples". That's the 1st Panda Express I been too that don't give samples. I wanted 2items but he said I had to wait 7mins for them to prepare it. Which I waited for more then 7mins, then was actually told theywere out of one of the items smdh. When we finally got our food "it tasted nothing like Panda Express food". They need to changethe cook and their attitude. Read more
Wow I despise bad ratings BUT panda express has truly let itself, or at least the Lawrence location, go. The food used to be 5... star and the service ranged 3-4.5 Over the past few months I've been 3-5 times. I began getting food that tasted okay but didntlook appetizing. So I thought they were low on help. But after more visits they always had plenty of workers on staff. This ispanda "express" a fast food chain not Panda INN where the food is made to order. And honestly knowing the owners met at Bakeruniversity in Baldwin City I expected more of their Lawrence location. This past visit truly will be our LAST after they askedmy wife and I to wait 5-10 minutes so they could make the food. This was during slow hours not before or after a rush. 10minutes later they asked to help me. So they didn't even prep the food I ordered as they didn't even have it on stock!! I have craved Panda Express for 11 years and seeing the sign from the highway was a message that it was time. The atmosphere was... full of positive energy, as well as the young woman helping us at the counter. It was nice to see an establishment supportingita local community and they were full of pride for KU. I would reccomend eating here as it was fresh ingerdients being made infront of us as well as the employee taking her time to explain our choices, and even giving our kids a smile. I took my two daughters to have dinner at the Rude express and was accosted by the server who was standing next to the manager... behind the food trough where I tried to ask him what were the required entrees to choose from as he mumbled under his mask theunclear criteria as she glared at me with angry eyes behind her .ask. I finally locked eyes with her and asked if this was astaring contest. She continued to glare right at my eyes and said nothing for at least 10 more seconds before she finallyflinched and jersey her head away. When the manager began to sloppily fill my plastic container with his bare hands somefood hit his fingers and bounced off into my food or the serving tray. I finally told the lady as she rang us up and saidthe total that I knew she could talk and how utterly rude she was and asked who the manager was. She pointed to her accomplice.So I went back over to him and explained all this to him. But then as we were getting our drinks to leave she was overwhispering in his ear. Decided to take a midday lunch the atmosphere was calm the food looks appetizing and it was hot and fresh the order consisted of... two bowls one with orange chicken and fried rice the other with fried rice and sesame chicken with an order of crab raccoons inone chicken eggroll food was awesome and extra sauce was needed Read more
Looks like finger food is all you will be able to order. I always try and visit a hot food bar during Peak hours for freshness... but this place even during peak hours the food does not look very appetizing and the workers are on the rude side Read more
Came in at 1:30 to get some food. Not much of a selection of food available egg rolls were burnt. The food didn?t have any... flavor to it at all. Read more
