We went into Chophouse for a typical late lunch after not having gone for a long while. We were surprised to see that the menu... had changed, but for the better. Its simple, clean, short, and not hard to read at all. Our server Eli was amazing and explainedthings to us quick and easy. Service was quick and snappy. Sure I received the wrong drink, I ordered Mello Yellow and gotlemonade, but it was still great. Everything they make in made in-house and fresh. To wrap things up, everyone is friendly andkind, and the food is excellent whether you're getting a drink at the bar, or sitting down for a nice hot meal. Service is greatand in general, a pleasant place to be. We will be returning here for sure. Read more

Here's a photo I took from the alley, their pretty patio/outdoor seating. We came for dessert and some beer and wine. The... service was really good and the food and drinks were really tasty. I didn't give it the full # of stars because I simply thoughtit was pricier than what it was worth, but that's purely an opinion and I will need to check out more on the menu. I've tried apatty melt about a month before that was not very tasty and I couldn't finish it. I would like to try more because the spinachand artichoke dip was absolutely delectable. Read more

We pulled up on Main Street, right across from the Boone County Courthouse and found quite a few open parking spaces right in... front of the restaurant. The parking was free, which I was pleased about. On our way into the restaurant, we noticed that theyhad what looked like very pleasant outdoor seating. The hostess asked us whether we wanted to eat inside or on the patio. Sincethe evening was drawing on and the temperature outside was marvelous, we asked to be seated outside. Our server gave us a quickhello, but was very busy and it took quite a while for her to return. She apologized for the delay. In looking over the menu, both my wife and I were drawn to the Chicken Portabella Fettuccine at $19. This was described as chicken and portabellamushrooms sauteed with bacon and garlic in a roasted red pepper cream sauce. We asked whether they could prepare the dishleaving out the bacon and our server said that they would be glad to accommodate us. The fettuccine was cooked just right andthere were plentiful chunks of chicken scattered throughout the dish. The mushrooms seemed to be a little harder to find, but wedid find a few little diced pieces as we enjoyed our dinner. The chicken was tender and moist and did a good job of absorbingthe cream sauce. Overall, the dish was delicious, though I ended up with a reasonable quantity of excess sauce after eating. Itwas a little difficult to consume the sauce using the fork and knife provided. It would have been even better if they hadsupplied some type of bread that we could have used for dipping the last savory bits of the cream sauce at the end of the meal. However, no bread was provided. My wife ordered the Busted Knuckle beer from Quaff ON! Brewing Company which was a porter thatthey had on draft. She said that the beer tasted very good. The outdoor patio area was between the restaurant and the nextbuilding in what was probably a former alley. They had nice lights stretched festively between poles that h Read more

Seated within 15 minutes of our reservation on a very busy prom night. Sat at the bar first, had a choice of good basic wines... and some good cocktails. Seated in dining area. Excellent service. Had the charcuterie board, pork chop and stuffed chicken. Allfood a very good. We will be back to try some of the other goodies. Dining room was a little bit noisy so if you want a quieterdinner, just order in the bar area. You do get what you pay for. Read more

Wow what a great experience! Where do I start with the incredible apps, wonderful entrees, or the house made bread pudding? Well... I have been lucky enough to get to taste a few of the menu items already and nothing has disappointed. If you are feelingthirsty make sure to check out the wonderful bar selection. With top shelf liqueurs, several bottle selections, and 8 taps youare sure to not leave thirsty. Also while you are in enjoying your time at 1830 check out the history of Boone county on thewalls. There is even some of the original wall paper up on one wall that has a cool story behind it. I am not gonna tell on hereyou have to come in and see for your self. Read more
