A lovely little diamond in the rough! Located on the grounds of the former U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Castle Heights Military... Academy, the wonderful Sammy B's brings a new and refined touch to Southern comfort food. The restaurant itself is locatedinside the old General's House upon the hill at the Academy. The walls are richly filled with pictures that contain a vastamount of Southern history. I ordered the classic Fish & Chips while my partner ordered the Club Sandwich. Both of us were verypleased with our meals, and the portions were absolutely huge, especially for the prices. They have some very nice choices foralcohol if you enjoy that as well; the restaurant also has a fully-stocked bar in one of the dining rooms. Our server was veryattentive and a total delight! My husband and I went there tonight 10.1.2022 for dinner. Casual dining, the servers were absolutely fabulous even ones that... weren?t assigned to our table spoke with us and the general manager also spoke with us. Food was excellent I had the smokehousepork chops and my husband had the uptown burger with skinny fries and skinny onion rings.It was a wonderful night with wonderfulfood love this place is thriving still! Have lived in Lebanon 11 years and had heard good things about Sammy B's, but had just never gotten over to try it. Right here... in Lebanon, I had the best Ribeye steak I have ever had. Cooked to perfection with the most tender and juicy flavors. The saladwas excellent and the bread was warm and delicious. Baked potato was exceptional as well. That being said, the meal was onlyhalf the full experience. The manager Sharon, and all of her staff was so focused on ensuring our night was perfect, you mightthink we were the only ones there, but many other seemingly faithful couples and friends were there having just as wonderful atime as we were. We have just found our "go to" place for that special "Night Out" Didn't even look at the rest of the expansiveand diverse menu until we got home and did some exploring. So this place you can tell if the people are mad let?s stArt with the staff when you place your order the waitress says I don?t... think we have that or I don?t know if he can fix it that way and then when you order it a certain way you still may not get itthe way you ordered it cuz she didn?t put the order in the way you asked for it same way when you call a order in they?re likeI?ll see if the cook can chop up the Jalapeño peppers and then when you pick your order up he didn?t then they get mad when youtell them they messed up your order so it?s a no for me the food was ok Read more
We visited for dinner on Friday with our son and future daughter in law for the first time and had Linda C. As our server. We... had such a great time, service and food that my husband and I went back for lunch on Saturday. We had Linda c. Again :). We devoured Chicken on the Row, Veggie Bowl & Banana Pudding!! And it was all FIRE!!! The house is beautiful!! The atmosphere... is great! Jen, our server, is knowledgeable and very kind & sweet! This was an accidental side trip that turned out to be a place that we will definitely return to! It?s crazy the places you may... miss within an hour of your home. This old home used to be part of the Castle Heights Military School. Whether you are lookingfor a day date, reunion, wedding rehearsal, or special occasion or just dinner, it?s definitely a special affair. The food is sogood.
