Visited this place last night for the first time. Pretty disappointed. Food: We ordered Bhel Puri, Gobi Chilly and Hakka... Noodles. All three were really bad. Bhel Puri felt like the Puri was very old and none of the veggies/masala was fresh. It justtasted like chat masala all over. Hakka Noodles was soggy and totally tasteless. The noodles was over cooked and veggies wereundercooked. The Gobi Chilly was just bad. Had no taste and was sweet. Service: looks like our waitresss was more concernedabout how many items we were ordering and was least bothered about the quality of the food. 5 Tara is one of my husband's and my favorite restaurants. We have been dining there since they opened, and we agree that the... food and service are consistently really good. All of the servers are great, but lately and often we've been served by Sonia. She is attentive, kind, and intuitive. Incredible!!! As soon as you walk in the doors of 5 Tara restaurant, you are greeted with an aroma of spices in the air,... beckoning you almost to come inside. Those familiar with Indian cuisine will tell you this is the first sign you should lookfor. I have heard about how good this restaurant is, but tonight was the first evening I had the pleasure of actually being apatron. My God is it good. The flavors are spot on, but the best feature are the wonderful staff and owner who are as friendlyas can be. Looking very forward to returning soon for the weekend buffet. Read more

Great food! The menu has a lot a variety for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians and the cook will prepare your food to order... with the level of heat/spice you prefer. Staff is friendly. Sonia, our server, was kind and attentive. Our food was made withcare and served with a smile. Portions are hearty! You will likely leave eating more than you had planned. :-) Read more

I like this place ~4.5. It was a quiet Monday night in August. Service was perfect, not to much or little. The lentil soup was... really great! The rest of dinner was solid. Reasonably priced compared to the rest of the area. My dinner partner had a minorissue with an appetizer temp, but I was fine with it. They fixed the issue anyway. Read more

I love this place. The food is delicious and the staff is great. Sonia is a wonderful server. Her menu recommendations are... always very tasty. Every time I go there, she is so pleasant that it feels like we're visiting friends rather than going to arestaurant. I keep bringing new people with me and they are never disappointed. Always a 10! A comfortable family style restaurant with excellent service. The food is Punjabi style Indian with a few updates. We always... have butter chicken and this one is excellent, I would suggest a double order if you plan to split dishes between more than twopeople. Basmati rice comes with the dinner. We also had garlic naan and finished off with gulab jamun. Seating is comfy andthe restaurant is large enough to handle a large group. You can also order take away and they cater.
