This place is very disappointing. The best thing I had was a margarita. This is supposed to be a Mexican restaurant but does not... serve horchata? Also, the guacamole was made fresh but I could not taste a thing. The blandest restaurant I’ve ever been to.Every person who comes in here probably leaves fearing they have covid because the food is so bland and tasteless. The birriatacos were dry as well. Feared I was going to choke on them with how dry they were. They should take the mex out of therestaurant name. This is a disgrace to Mexican food. Call it taste-less because you will leave feeling as if you just ate paste.2/5 only because the margarita was good and the service was great. Read more
If you’re thinking of going to Next Mex for an enjoyable dinner-don’t! We were told it was a 45-minute wait for an outside... table-we were 4th on the list. Two tables remained empty for 20 minutes, before they sat us at one of them. We were there for21/2 hours for dinner. My husband’s burrito was Luke warm. He ordered fries instead of the beans & rice & they were cold. Thewaitress knew they were cold & said she would have another order made for him. The manager brought them out & said to be carefulbecause they were hot out of the fryer. They were BARELY WARM! At one point the waitress said she would see if she could get mysecond Margarita comped. Didn’t happen. My husband talked to the manager after we paid the bill & told her about the food & wewouldn’t be back. She just apologized. It’s too bad, because their food is good & they have a nice patio. Talked to a womanat the table next to us who met some friends. The friends did not have menus yet, after they had been there for 15 minutes. Food was decent and came out fast but everything was cold. Kids had ice cold fries with their kids meals. Everyone’s rice was... cold and hard, my enchiladas were cold all the way through. I feel like it would have been really good food had it been hot.Prices are reasonable and drinks were good. Overall vibe was nice. Read more
I usually love the food and appreciate the comfortable environment! It’s pricier, but I can often get 2 meals out of it. We... recently discovered they do not have a changing table in either bathroom. When I suggested they have one (especially as acommunity-oriented, family-friendly place, which they are!) the manager was defensive saying they specifically chose to not getone since they’re dangerous and kids can fall off them (???) I inquired further saying this made no sense and other optionsinclude changing baby on the floor (???) or on the tables/chairs of their restaurant (???) Very bizarre and poor response towhat should be an obvious answer. They also don’t print any sort of kids menu - a small thing, but when trying to order formyself and multiple kids, I’d rather a simple half sheet of paper to read off of rather than asking the server (who is clearlybusy) to relay me the menu, sides, etc. and having to decide on the spot. Comfortable and inviting place to eat or drink outside with friends or family this summer season. The big round tables outside... can accommodate larger groups who want to dine and enjoy the weather together. They have a unique drink menu, and the servicefrom the Bartender was excellent! Next Mex is in its own little (almost hidden) quiet little corner, surrounded by plenty ofparallel parking available nearby. Inside are beautiful and colorful interiors, clean bathrooms, great music and attitude fromthe attentive staff; fun, unique desserts are offered as well!! Read more
Stopped in for a few margs after work. Went with the Lovely Rita. If you're into margs, this is the one to try. I ordered the... Taco Salad and was worried it might be one of those tortilla bowls but it wasn't. I chose steak as the topping and my awesomebartender Jessica suggested adding the Green Pepper hot sauce along with the house hot sauce and wow did it jolt the flavor. Was in mood for dessert and Jess recommended the Snickers Chimichanga with vanilla ice cream. Great food, great service. I'll be back. Read more
I believe Next Mex is a bit over priced. We enjoyed our food but $9 for chips and guac was a bit much. I would think $5 or $6... would have been more of a reasonable price. I think this is just more of an average American-Mexican restaurant. I also got afrozen margarita which did not taste right. My friend became frustrated as well because she got the chimichangas. The pricelisted on the menu was at $12 and her bill came up to be $15. We asked the waiter if there was a mistake. He got the manager andshe told us that it was in the small print that the steak was extra. They ended up giving her the $12 which we were happy with.I wish they would have listed the price separately so she knew when she ordered. Over all I think this place has a friendlyenvironment but I probably won’t be returning because the food was average and prices were high. Read more
The tamales were bland and the sauce too sweet. The rice was not fully cooked, very hard. Server was not very attentive.
