Poutine, Poutine, Poutine. This is our favorite stop on our way East. For those of you who enjoy fresh cut potatoes, brown or... BBQ gravy and curd cheese, yes real curd cheese. Chez Ashton is a direct competitor to Ontario's St-Albert's curd cheese andpoutine restaurant. I have traveled both provinces, many times and tried many poutine places but in Ashton fashion that is thebest Ashton in Quebec. The place is a "restaurant" so that means some patrons are not "civilized" and because they may be onlypassing thru those said patrons can be quite "piggy" with the facilities. Rest assured the staff is well versed in cleaningafter them and you only need to say it once. Friendly staff will tell you the story of Chez Ashton if you ask them, believe meit's an interesting Battle Story as to who created what and when, and who has the best one. A little pricey for fast food, but their poutine and hot dogs are great. Fries are not as greasy compared to other "friteries"
The food was downright sub-standard. I asked for steamies and got a toasted hotdog with a weird tasting dog. I couldn?t even eat... the whole thing. The hamburger was nothing special. The poutine was disappointing. Pricey and not great. Read more
