Service was horrible, my son has a dairy allergy so after finding this place on a vegan website we popped in and I politely... asked to confirm which bagels are made dairy free ? she rudely said ?NONE OF THEM?. I asked if she was positive as they werehighly recommended on a vegan website, and that my 3YO (next to me) has a dairy allergy, to which she said ?no, they all havemilk solids? I asked if the avocado toast could be made vegan, she abruptly said ?NO?. needless to say we won?t be back and anyplace that has to use ?milk solids? to make bagels doesn?t care about your health!! ?Home made bagels with ultra PROCESSEDingredients? ????????? and people wonder why America is sick!! I love bagels. Therefore, I stumbled upon this place while trying to find a good lunch meal. I am very grateful I did. My mom... and I decided to stop by the Lewes location as a final stop for our vacation. Surf Bagel certainly did not fail to disappoint.Their bagels are perfectly baked New York style. Love surf bagel. I know they are doing a good job. However I too have noticed the bagels used to be very warm when toasted. Now... barely warm and not warm at all if you live 5 minutes away. Usually also get two of their granola yogurts. Yummy. But latelythey are always out of them. Cream cheese on the bagels has also gotten very skimpy. Still love it though Read more
Excellent bagels but lukewarm coffee. Went several times and the bagels were fantastic- chewy with a crunch and superb flavor.... Unfortunately, the coffee, while flavorful, sits out in dispensing units that are unheated. Read more
Grabbed breakfast for the family on a Friday morning and it was fairly busy around 9am. Great selection of bagel flavors along... with some baked good options. They also had a selection of fresh brewed coffe, juices, and milk in a refrigerated case. We didhave some issues with our order so I suggest checking it before leaving if you have a large order like we did. Read more
Update Jan 12, 2022 Sent email to Nicole at sodel, as she requested in her response Update Dec 2021 - 2 stars Took 5 months... off from surf bagel based on my last experience (see first review below). But I have to say now I'm reducing from three starsto two after this visit today. The pictures speak volumes of this establishments inability to do the most basic function onEarth... Toast a bagel and follow direction! I think I heard that they were bought out by a Restaurant group so crossingfingers they show them how to actually toast a bagel and apply butter or cream cheese Today I went in and asked them to toastit with very light butter. I even reiterated that the last time I was here it just came out warm and was not toasted at all. The cashier acknowledged my concern and said that she will be sure it's toasted with light butter. Well take a look at thephotos... I got an incredibly burnt bagel with a gallon of butter drenched all over!!! Seriously you guys I have no idea howyou've stayed in business this long !!! --------------- 5 months ago - 3 stars: Come on guys... You can do better toasting thebagels! Even when you aren't busy they come out mushy with no sign of being toasted and are hardly warm. If I wanted a bagelthat resembled being thrown in the microwave for 20 seconds I'd ask for that. And your lack of care with the spreads... Veryclumpy and only on 2 of the 4 halves. Very sloppy work guys. $14 for 4 bagels (3 as is)... I expect better. You should expectbetter. Please reconsider that when people ask for toasted bagels with a spread, that you have a modicum of consideration toactually care for your product. Read more
Our office has been ordering lunch here for years and years. We have not been back for awhile since the prices increased, but... decided to give it a try today. Two people would not order because what they normally order was priced way more than they werewilling to pay. Five others of us ordered online to go orders (which was nice). However, two of the five orders were notcorrect. The biggest disappointment was the quality and quantity of the food items. I understand prices have increased, but toraise the prices dramatically and then deliver much less and at lower quality is really disappointing. The old home made chipswere delicious. Just FYI, they do not serve these any longer. You get a bag of chips. I think the bagels are the only thingthat has stayed the same in terms of quality. They are more expensive though! The new ownership has not kept it remotely thesame as it was and sadly we won't be back. Another local restaurant that sold to a big group that cares more about profits thanits loyal customers.
