Walked in and hostess seated us. Staff seemed busy moving tables. After 10 minutes of no one even try to serve us we walked... out. If you want poor service this is the place. Read more

Unique mill atmosphere with a decent pub menu. A good selection of brews and cocktails. No issues with the service.

First time in Maine with a group and this place was the most unfriendly pub I have ever been to. To start off my wife had spoken... with the manager earlier in the day informing them that a group of around 20 would be visiting. We were told that would not bean issue, however the kitchen would be closed but they stayed open until 11pm (which is what's posted online). Needless to say,a friend of mine was already seated there prior to the groups arrival and informed us that her server was not pleasant. She aswell as myself were informed around 8:45pm that it was last call for drinks. 8:45pm!! I asked the server what time the pubcloses because posted signs stated 11pm. He informed me and my guests that once the kitchen closed they legally had to close thepub and they were closing now (9:00pm). I informed him I had a couple of more guests joining in which he looked very irritated.Other patrons entered the establishment and some were turned away while others were allowed to sit at the bar. The only shininglight in that place other than the ambience, was Melissa. She continued to serve our party and was friendly and courteous. However, her coworkers seemed very irritated by this. I was given the bill and was collecting the money to only find out theserver (I don't remember his name, but he had a shaved head and wore a mask with his beard poking out) had taken the bill andmoney from the table without consulting anyone and informed me I was short on payment (.4¢). Needless to say, his overzealousness to leave and send us on our way led to his non-tip. This establishment has workers who do not want to work. ASaturday night and everyone but Melissa is rushing to close the place so they can enjoy their weekend. If the owner is readingthis review: your workers are not in the business of having your establishment earn a profit and should be vetted for the likesof Melissa who understands what running a business means. Great beer! I got a flight. Food was good too. My husband and I unexpectedly stumbled upon trivia night here and that was a nice... surprise. The inside is really cool and this place is huge! I love the gate and lanterns leading up to the door too. This willdefinitely be a spot we frequent. Read more

We have gone to Baxter's numerous times cuz food and ambience have been great. We had reservations for Easter eve at 7 pm. Half... of what we ordered was sold out but we did have an enjoyable meal anyway. Service was slow but we finished by 815. We waitedtill 845 to get the waitress to order dessert but she said kitchen was closed at 830 so we couldn't get dessert. Published hourssaid open till 11 Desserts are refrigerated so take no prep time so I feel we should have been able to get this or informedahead of time. This was an expensive evening for such service. We paid and left. It was pouring rain so we got car and returnedat gate to wait for one of our party who had bad feet only to get yelled at rudely by security guard. Needles to say this wasnot a relaxing evening for a very expensive meal. We will not be returning Read more

Looking for a luxury vacation for you're tasetbuds? Look no further! It is quite rare that I hand out a 5 star review. If I... could give them 10 I would. To start with, they have 24 of their own beers on tap (more available in cans!). You will findeverything from a light and crisp Logger Road that is better than a cold drink of water on a hot summer day to a black as amoonless night Wicked Dark that will warm your bones and then some. Our dinner started with pan seared scallops and Buffalowings (OK...it started with a flight of 5 stouts but who's counting). As a native Mainer, I've had lots of scallops in my life. These were, hands down...THE. BEST. SCALLOPS. IN. MY. LIFE! The bacon, cilantro, and purple cauliflower puree came together inthe most amazing way. The Buffalo wings had the smell of the most hard kicking Buffalo sauce you've ever had, but tasted sobalanced that I, as a person who's not a huge Tabasco fan nearly fought for them. When my fish and chips came out I was at firsta bit disappointed at the serving size of the fish. Then I tasted it...and all was forgiven! Light and crisp batter with a worldof flavor! Dessert was a second flight on the lighter side. As was expected, all was amazing! So if you're in the area andhaven't been yet, visit the Pub at Baxter. If you're not in the area, make the trip. You won't be disappointed! Read more

We loved it, even with the limited menu for food. I had the BBQ and my wife had the bacon grilled cheese. The food was okay, but... the beer was amazing. We shared a sampler of five beers. All five were great. My favorite was the Phantom Punch. Read more
