Was hyped to check out the new restaurant but was not as impressed as I thought I would be. Didn?t mention on the menu your meal... comes with chips and salsa so we naturally ordered them on the side and cashiers didn?t tell us as well. So we had an overwhelming of chips we didn?t need. Tacos come in a small little cardboard plate and so much juices came out of the meat it was amess and my tacos were soaked in it. Also highly over charge sour cream and Guacamole for such a tiny amount! On top of thecashier was asked about the type of draft beers they had and she said ?I don?t know I?m 17 go ask at the bar? which fine she is17 but also is an employee and should know these type of things. Definitely needs some adjustments. Read more

I went there on a Monday evening to sit at the bar. I saw that there was a $10 bucket deal for beers. It did say ?select beers?... on a board on the bar, but nowhere did it say what beers. It was only ?til later on in the evening did the bartender turn aroundthe board to show what beers were ?select?. I did not select one of those beers and I was not told that my beer of choice wasnot on the list when I ordered. The nachos, however, were very good. The ?margarita Mondays? deal was great and so was themargarita. Read more

I went here before and the food wasn?t great but I went here again yesterday and they seemed to improve a lot. I had the ... chicken nachos that were very good and they had a lot of toppings. I also ordered the chicken tacos. The chicken was great theonly thing I would change was the tortilla I prefer corn tortillas. Service was good too it?s just a seat yourself kind of placeand you order at the register but the staff was friendly. Reminds me of casa azul in the city. Read more

They have to figure out a way to make Mexican food for take out and not have it soggy snd fall apart by the time you get home.... You can tell the food CAN be good here but really need to work on execution. We ordered a $10.00 nacho and the nacho came withjust chips and chicken. Nothing else. To be fair we haven?t eaten in yet. But both times for take out the meal is basically awet mess. They also need to have a floor a manager. No one seemed to be running the place. This place can work but needs a tonof help/ quality control etc ! Seems like Gallo empire is stretched to thin. Won?t go back. A swing and a miss Read more

Gallo Loco has one thing right : it?s name LOCO! Crazy! Walked in to a gum chewing employee, told to order at register because... there is no table service. Took the menu to an outside table we chose, to look it over; Fajitas sounded good enough. Went backto register ordered from gum chewing cashier. Iced tea was self serve from small fridge along wall .. it was warm! Food servedfast ( clearly reheated) No silverware.. had to get the plastic fork and knife in the dining area. What a disaster. Price withtip $45.00 - I thought Mexican music, fresh food and great service? got none of that! It?s sad .. so much potential but clearly owner is absent and couldn?t care less.. at least that?s the impression. Great opportunity ruined. Never going back .. ???? Read more

Got take-out from here tonight. It was delicious, fresh, and flavorful. The steak on our steak queso nachos was superbly tender.... And they came deconstructed, so the nachos didn?t get all soggy in transit. My chicken fajitas were excellent! My sons saidtheir tacos were delicious and my husband was very happy with his carnitas bowl! Definitely ordering from here again soon. Read more

Gallo runs quite a few restaurants along the Center Street in Lewiston so we were anxious to try Gallo Loco hoping for some... authentic Mexican. To say the least we were quite disappointed. For what you get, it's really pricey. 8 to 12 dollars for twostreet tacos, and sides are extra. The tortilla shells were store bought and fell apart easily. The flavor of the tacos werelacking to say the least. Most of the meat wasn't flavored that well and for what you got for the price, it made for a verydisappointing experience. Not terrible, but below average. Unless they revamp the menu and start making everything from scratch,we probably won't be back any time soon. Read more
