Underwhelmed and falling short. Date night brought my husband and I to a local restuarant, Prairie House. The interior is... beautiful, the live musician they hosted has a beautiful sultry voice that elevated the cozy decor. Burnt Ends appetizer was dryand lukewarm, served with dry onions and peppers. New York strip had numerous tendons and gristle and the char marks very lightin texture. Mushrooms were a nice texture but fairly bland. Vegetable kebab was a nice touch, however the plating was too smallto accommodate it and grew cold quickly. Grilled Salmon was tasty and paired well with their French fries. Highlight of thisdinner experience was the Caesar salads, however that alone is not enough to bring desire to return. Would notrecommend. Disappointed, but glad to have heard such a talented artist. After being seated, waited 15 minutes for any service. Appetizers were good. Dinner salads brought after entree. 3 briskets... tips and chicken breast….didn’t finish either, wife got 8 oz sirloin and didn’t eat half and ate none of okra. This was a solid choice on restaurants for lunch. They were not busy on a Saturday afternoon. Got the BBQ trio and that sausage... is incredible. Had a couple of signature cocktails and the Bluebonnet was my favorite. I got a salad and it was decent. We alsogot a chicken fried steak sandwich and it was also a good choice, just wish it had more gravy. We asked for extra but the serverforgot, which is ok, it happens. I'd like to revisit, maybe for dinner, if I'm ever up in North DFW again. Read more

If you haven't visited Prairie House in old Town Lewisville you are missing out!! Ladies and gentlemen...The atmosphere here... superb, the large impeccable bar was and townhouse features are absolutely stunning! My waitresses was named MIA, she was thebest waitresses I've ever had, it was like telepathic almost how she knew exactly what type of drink I needed, the food wasdelicious, everything was visually yummy, and tasted just like this picture! I have no idea why this place doesn't have 5 stars.I'm going back...ASAP this dessert menu I need to sample, and please ???? yall try the fried ribs!! So this place is GORGEOUS! The whole decor theme is executed so very well! From outside to inside, just lovely! It scores extra... points for us because one of the rusty old tractors outside is made by a brand called Oliver and that just happens to be thename of our son, so extra photo ops and photos were snagged with it. The food was great and portions were large for the prices!Our server was stretched thin but she did her best keeping up with refills and getting the food out to us. Can’t wait to goagain! Read more

I just love the relaxed ambiance of Prairie House. A former feed store redecorated with items from the past. It's beautifully... done. I recently discovered this place, and wanted to stop by for lunch. I came in for lunch and I was told about a chicken fried... ribeye. I also got the brisket burnt ends for my appetizer. The chicken fried ribeye isn't on their actual menu, but if yourequest it, they will serve it to you. They did, and my goodness gracious it was outstanding. It's 16 oz. breaded and fried perfectly, and the steak cut like butter. I also got gravy for the steak on the side, bacon white mac n' cheese and mashedtaters for my 2 sides. I hear all the time about the best chicken fried steaks in DFW, and I cannot belive this one is nevermentioned. Hopefully word gets out that they make one of the best chicken fried steaks in all of Texas. Just make sure you askyour server for the chicken fried RIBEYE and not their regular chicken fried steak.
