My husband and I had lunch here and instantly put it on our list of return places. He had the country fried steak with fried... green tomatoes, parmesan deep fried corn (don't miss out on this), and mac and cheese. I had the Cajun catfish with fried okraand broccoli casserole. It was all incredible even though I found the okra wasn't listed on the menu but they have it if yourequest it and it was worth the request. Decided to try this place out the other day. Great meal options, relatively decent service (could have been a little quicker,... had to wait a while for our tickets and we were on a schedule). Portions were more than decent, and flavorful! Will definitelybe back sometime! Read more
Humongous food portions! Quick service. They celebrate vegetables (currently Corn Daze), but my husband had the biggest hot-open... pot roast sandwich I have ever seen. Read more
Chicken and dumplings were great (after the manager replaced the first round pictured right). There were 3 partial dumplings in... the whole bowl. Beets and creamed corn were fresh and tasted good. Service (wait staff in particular), well, that?s why theyonly received 3 stars. If you?re very patient and have no where to be after lunch, you?ll be fine. Read more
Just ate here for the first time. It was fantastic. I had cajun fried catfish, mashed potatoes, and creamed corn. It came with... three very unique hush puppies and cornbread. My son had meatloaf, mashed potatoes, carrots, and mac & cheese with a Cougar Baitbeer. It was all incredible. And we topped it off with two pieces of Black Bottom Banana Pie which may be the best pie I?ve everhad. And the service from Bailey was great. Highly recommended. Read more
This was our first time eating at this restaurant despite it being practically across the street from the hotel we usually stay... at when visiting our daughter at the University of Kentucky. Our server Loretta was awesome, but what really made this placememorable was the terrific homemade food! My daughter loved her Reuben which was well stacked, my wife loved her meat and threechoice, but let me tell you about that absolutely delicious vegetable hot brown... the meat is NOT missed in the vegetableversion, and all the vegetables were cooked to crisp tender with excellent seasoning and then covered in the traditional hotbrown topping. We ordered the appetizer of fresh, fried green tomatoes which were so good we ate 2/3 of it before I rememberedto snap a picture! While I do recommend that as an appetizer, please note that ALL of the portion sizes are extremely generousand you will not leave this restaurant hungry! Read more
Everything but the food was amazing. The service was quick, the wait-staff were all friendly and helpful, the sweet tea was... great. Sadly the food was not good. The green beans had no taste, the fried okra was bland, the buffalo sauce was overpowering. Read more
