We did a flight, then the Bistro, then a tasting. The girl up front who gave us our flight was great, very knowledgeable, and... very personable, sorry I forgot her name up. Nautica was our waitress and she was great. All of the food good except my burgerwas supposed to be MR but was way well done. I was hungry and we needed to move on to our tasting so I ate it anyways. For thetasting we had Crystal serving us. She was very personable and knowledgeable about the wines, the winery, and many other aspectsconcerning the wine maker, grower, and Richard, who came by at lunch and said hey, which was an unsuspected pleasure. Thetasting room only had one server and it took longer than what we were told and there was a lot of dead time in between pours. We were here when they first opened and what a difference. Had an amazing time at Childress 2 weeks ago. We started off with brunch at the bistro. Food was delicious. I had 2 entrees... couldn’t decide. Wine slushee was delicious. We did the wine tour and tasting as well. We left feeling really good. Woulddefinitely recommend. Read more
Came here last Friday for the first time after having driven past for years. Didn’t know what to expect, so I set the bar low.... I was really impressed. The variety of selection was great, and the quality of the wine was actually quite good. I’m a novicewhen it comes to wine tasting, but I enjoyed the wines I tasted. The tasting which was $25 was more expensive than some otherplaces but I felt that it was worth it. The lady doing our tasting was both knowledgeable and personable, which made theexperience even more enjoyable. Loved the fact that I got to keep the glass. After the tasting we shared a wine slushee flight,and it was actually quite tasty, and I’m not one to normally drink sweet wines. The grounds were beautiful and there wereplenty of areas to sit and enjoy your wine and surroundings. Cannot comment on the bistro but I would like to try it. I willdefinitely be coming back. What a wonderful surprise for a Friday lunch! The grounds and buildings are impressive! From the moment you drive up through the... labeled vineyards to the time you leave you enjoy beautiful vistas! This vineyard bistro was wonderful. The staff helpful andknowledgeable in selections. The food was prepared to liking and there were many drink selections to choose from includingvirgin mimosas. This place is gorgeous!! We did two wine tastings (white and sweet) and had a few of their truffles (tiramisu and cookie). For... nearly 8 full glasses of wine, two truffles it was $61 (so very fairly priced). During checkout they told us keep the glasses,which is speaking my husband's love language ????Even in winter the grounds are beautiful, we're going to come back in thespring when they start doing live music again. Had an amazing experience today! My wife and I drove 2 1/2 hours to visit Childress for the 1st time. Spectacular views from the... second we turned into the vineyard. Upon reaching the foyer, we were immediately greeted by a very ecstatic warm employee(I didnot catch her name). She welcomed us, Thanked us for visiting, guided us to everywhere we needed to visit, answered all of ourquestions without hesitation and showed her appreciation for us joining them! Once we entered the building, we were greetedseveral times by different employees! Not once did we speak to someone that did not want to be here! GREAT Atmosphere!!! MrsJerri in the store was awesome! She welcomed any questions and explained how the tastings worked as they had several differentselections of tastings. She was Amazing! Couldn't ask for a better hostess! We had a reservation @3PM. Arrived around 12 just tocheck out the vineyard and enjoy ourselves. Arrived at the bistro a few minutes before our scheduled time and was seatedimmediately as they were prepared for us, the way it should be! Madison was our Hostess/server and once again, superb! Nothingshort of her being amazing! She didn't rush us, answered our questions without hesitation and even gave us her recommendationsonce we asked for them! Spot on! Had a great day! Just wondered for this vineyard! Great wines, excellent service! I didn’t have lunch there, I experienced The Tasting wine, 4... types of sweet wine but you can try red or mixed ones. I will definitely come back and bring some friends and family to visit! Read more
