We did not realize until we got there & had already ordered over the phone that it was no longer Chen’s. I have never posted... one of these reviews before but felt like I owed it to others like me that have been eating here for 15+ years - I had peppersteak & my husband had lo mein & they were both pretty terrible!! First time and it was okay. Nice customer service. Very clean establishment. Food flavor was not on point as of what I'm use to,... but it was good. My daughter ate sweet n sour chicken with house lo mein. I had general tso chicken with house lo mein and weboth had a sweet tea. We enjoyed our outing. Read more

Very clean, tasty, affordable and healthy food. I had Szechuan beef and the serving could feed 2 or 3 people: wonderful sauce,... fresh veggies and tender beef. Read more

Ordered 3 meals plus 2 soups and crab puffs.. my Dinner of spare ribs tips, were old and rotten... unedible. Hot and sour soup... so much oil, did not taste good or authentic at all. Just got food from here ONLY because any other Chinese restaurant is closed on Tuesday… super disappointed in myself for not... just waiting one more day to get my Chinese fix! The sesame chicken had no flavor. Tasted like deep fried chicken with brownsauce over it. The rice was disgusting.. and the crab Rangoons were completely cooked out dry. Nothing whatsoever inside any ofthem… I’ve had this place about a year ago. With the same results, and was willing to give them another shot, and now I’mmad at myself for doing so. I haven’t been to Chen’s in a year. Now there is a new management and the food taste very different now. I ordered the black... and pepper chicken with lo mein and my grandma ordered egg foo yong and egg rolls . I ordered this around 8pm and the nextmorning I was getting ready for school I notice I had a horrible cramp , feeling sick to the stomach and very nauseous Icouldn’t eat all day my grandma also had the same symptoms and we order 2 different things . My husband was craving Chinese food and this met the mark and surpassed our expectations. Portions are great, price is great.... And the food is the best Chinese food we’ve had since we moved to Lexington. 11/10 ?? Read more

Just had lunch at Chen's Chinese and couldn't be happier. It turns out the old owner and chef of Sun Ming restaurant on St.... Andrews came here and reopened it 2 months ago. We have been going to Sun Ming for last 20 years and was devastated by hisretiring a year ago. We reunited and had our usual sauteed string beans, beef with wide rice needle, shredded pork with drytofu in spicy garlic source. It was so delicious and brings back many memories. A lot dish wont be on the takeout menu ofcourse but if you are good old costumer like me he might do it for you. Lol We are so lucky that Chef He came out of hisretirement and we can enjoy the authentic Chinese food here again! Read more
