Moved into the neighborhood about 2 years ago and happened by Balneo by looking for a nicer restaurant on the web near me. Read... a few reviews and decided to give it a try since everyone was just raving about the food and service. I have to say, those thatraved did not do this restaurant justice, the melding of food and ambience with old European flavors was just fabulous. Ourlovely waitress Karine turned out to be our most delightful bartender as well and we certainly took advantage of her skillfultalents. Koodos to Derek and Martine the owners of this delightful establishment for putting together meals to simply take youaway and hiring people to match and compliment thier skills. Highly recommended. Last night we celebrated a friend?s 50th, it was our first time at this restaurant. The ambiance was lovely, the service was... quick and the servers were very professional and extremely nice, The food was delicious and hot , I was shocked they could serveso many people all at once, very efficiently even though it was a set menu with good choices. Love this place. We have been there quite a few times and have never been disappointed. This occasion was for our friend's... birthday on Wednesday, March 16th, which also had three other tables celebrating birthdays. We stuck to our feasting tradition.This is not going out for dinner, it's straight-up gavage. Nobody leaves until it hurts because you can't stopeating. Excellent service. Excellent food.
