Went twice in 3 days. The wings are delicious, the short rib was like a dinosaur rib! (Very good). This is the only place I've... had collared greens that I've enjoyed (and I've spent a lot of time in the south) Read more

First time there, ordered buttery wings w/fries & slaw. Wings were greasy, burnt, extremely salty, and tasted old. Slaw... swimming in sweet sauce, wasn't bad, fries had little flavor to them. Was informed that menu rotates and this dish had merotating to my bathroom a few times during the night. Won't be back. Read more

First of all, this restaurant knows how to make the meats for the most part. Ribs (my fave), brisket, catfish, pulled pork, and... fried chicken are great. I?ve been disappointed with their chicken wings though. Last two times have been like eating wings madeout of rubber bands, they snap, not in a good way. To me, the side dishes are 50/50. Their sides interchange daily so you neverknow what?s actually available until you get there. Online order say one thing, actual ordering in person says another. Friesand Mac n cheese are good, hard to mess up. But the Brussels sprouts were terrible, they need to advertise that they have pecansin them and they are actually very chewy and tough as hell. I?m also allergic to pecans so the pecans was a nice surprise. Iwill stay neutral on the baked beans because while I think they are way over the top flavor/ingredients wise, I can see whypeople like them. The collard greens though.. I haven?t liked any collard greens before but I could devour Mary Ellen?s collardgreens every day, they are GREAT. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, the meats are great, but need to solidify thesides that they are good at and quit changing them around. Read more

We tried the Cajun Honey Wings, Hot Buttered Wings, Brussels Sprouts and Mac N Cheese. The Cajun Honey Wings are amazing!... Brussels Sprouts had a nice roasted sweet flavor and the Hot Buttered Wings are a good spice level. We will definitely be backfor more! Read more

Food took quite awhile (about 25 minutes) Mac and cheese was basically just noodles (was hoping for creamy cheese and was highly... disappointed) Smothered potatoes were decent (but a little on the greasy side) Fried chicken was decent (the breading wasaverage. My opinion?go across the street to Famous Dave?s. Read more

Mary Ellen's is the best soul food in Lincoln. Catfish is perfection. Collards ditto. I myself didn't care for the honey butter... wings, but everything else has been great. Read more

Everything was delicious, but I tend to judge places off of their coleslaw which so many places can't do well. Hands down, best... coleslaw I've ever had came from Mary Ellen's. Read more

The catfish is u lick any you will find in Lincoln. Theribs were excellent and the hot link was hot in all the right ways and the collard greens made me want a gallon more.
