My Husband and I booked Wilderness Ridge for our wedding and we absolutely fell in love the second we drove up to the venue! We... had our wedding about a month ago and the staff there is incredible and got everything done that was asked and then some. Thecoordinator we worked with was there to make sure things were going smoothly and made sure to check on us throughout thenight. We had a mimosa bar and snacks in the bridal room that my girls and I enjoyed! The room was set up beautifully and hadplenty of room for us to get ready with access to it all night so we could leave our stuff in there till we left. We had ourceremony on the wedding island which worked out perfectly. The tree stole the show and looked incredible in pictures! They hadgolf carts shuttling all the guests and the wedding party from the main building down to the island and let us also use them toget pictures after the ceremony was done. We had our reception in the Yellowstone Ballroom which had a rustic look to it and abig fireplace that was right behind the head table. The dancefloor was nice and had lights strung up around it which we reallyliked. We had appetizers for our guests while we finished taking pictures and based on the fact that it was all gone by the timewe got done it mustve been good! We got the Italian Pasta Buffet for dinner which was absolutely delicious! They also had a deckout back which had a fireplace with a fire going for us! That was probably my favorite part since I ended up spending the endhalf of the night talking with people out on the deck. So many people mentioned how beautiful the wedding was and that from thelooks, to the food, to the drinks, and honestly all around people are still talking about how good of a time they had! I want tothank the entire staff of Wilderness Ridge for making our wedding day go so smoothely and making sure it all went off without ahitch! A very nice 'Lodge Style' restaurant, set up to look like a log cabin, open and spacious inside with very tall ceilings. Staff... is nice and good at what they do, food is prepared very well, and the overall atmosphere was very welcome and warm. Read more
Every 6 months we give Wilderness a chance and every 6 months we hope some day it will live up to that beautiful building. I... know staffing is short everywhere, but service has always been an issue at Wilderness. Tonight we didn’t even get to try thefood or drink. After 15 minutes of no one coming by we decided to move on as it seemed it was just going to be more of the sameafter listening to our neighboring tables commenting on the lack of service and missing ordered items and their server. Have you ever ordered a meal from a restaurant, and thought, just for that split second, god, for the love of god, why did I... order food from this place? You know it's not going to be good. You know it's going to *somehow* be inferior quality to evenyour lowest expectations. However, two old fashioneds in, I went against my own best judgement and ordered the Walleye. Fish,mashed potatoes, and asparagus. What could go wrong? My happy go lucky joie de vivre was quickly tempered by the monstrositywhich graced the proffered plate. An improperly filleted walleye which was FULL of bones and nearly made me choke. Asparagusthat was COMPLETELY undercooked. And, gasp, mashed potatoes, that, on the second forkful, presented a long, thick black hairthat made my stomach turn. Upon showing my (quite nice) waiter and bartender the monstrosities on my plate, he displayed theempathy required in any customer service situation. He said that I could order whatever else I wanted and it would promptly bedelivered to our table. I ordered the honey glazed salmon. It showed up in about 10 minutes, though I was unfortunately againdisappointed. No hairs or bones were apart of this meal, but the broccoli's texture was off (old?), the fish was unseasoned andundercooked, and the potato wedges were boring and laughable. I was positively disappointed in the entire expire, and insteadof being comped my meal, as any good restaurant should, I was charged for the replacement salmon. The drinks were comped, whichwas nice, but I was told by the waiter that "they" (the powers that be) would not allow my meal to be comped. One comp, whichmight have alleviated the annoyances of this entire experience. Instead, Google, I am here, pleaing you to avoid thisrubbishmill of a restaurant. They know nothing of seasoning, good care of patrons, or quality food. We are members here for golf club and the food is always great! The restaurant seems to have ramped up service again after... COVID and we had great food and service tonight. Read more
The food was really good! And the staff was very friendly. Our server was very patient and talkative with my family (who ask a... lot of questions and appreciated his excellent advice). The decor (lots of taxidermy and wood and golf photos) was maybe a tinybit much, but certainly added to the "lodge" experience. And the food was fresh and well paired within each of our dishes. Theyhad live music outside and good spacing inside. And their drinks menu was extensive, they had great mixed drinks (my moms vesperwas excellent, as was my apple spiced mojito). For holiday buffets, this one is fabulous! My family and I attended the Thanksgiving buffet and it was quite delicious. Lots... of options for kids, vegetarians, and carnivores.
