The parking lot was full when I arrived so I had high expectations. Quality of the fish was good and the presentation was nice,... but overall not very flavorful. The rolls seemed very heavy on the rice. A simple spicy tuna roll was not spicy and had littleflavor beyond the tuna. The staff was friendly, so maybe at some point I will give it a second chance. I did not expect such a good and professional Sushi restaurant at this location! The salad with spinach and sesame tofu dressing... was quite big and tasted good. All the Nigiri were superb! Especially the O-Toro can be recommended, but also everythingelse. However quite pricy! Read more
Starfish Sushi is our go to in the north burbs for sushi! Food: The fish for nigiri / sashimi is all pretty fresh. Last time we... went, we got the chirashi bowl, and it’s very pretty loaded with a selection of fish. This time, a couple pieces could havebeen fresher (e.g., salmon), but usually when I have this, all the pieces are very fresh. It’s the best deal if you order itfor lunch! I also love the nabe yaki udon because the broth is so flavorful and the noodles themselves are 100. You can’t gowrong with their signature maki - they will definitely wow. Service: very thoughtful and kind servers, although it can be a bitslow at times (probably due to lack of seasoned servers these days). It was my dad’s birthday, and they even brought us icecream with a candle when we didn’t order dessert! The restaurant is clean and open, and there’s dark mood lighting. Wouldbe great for a large party (lots of open tables) or a date (more intimate booths available). There is also outdoor seating inthe summer, but those seats basically look at the parking lot. Stopped with my daughter on a weekend trip in Lincolnshire. Mango madness and spicy tuna rolls were delicious, as was agedashi... tofu appetizer and mochi dessert. Enjoyed oyster shooters as well, and a lovely cup of jasmine tea. Service was fantastic! Alsoenjoyed the atmosphere. Great experience! Read more
Loved dinner here! Beautiful atmosphere and the staff were very attentive. Our favorite maki rolls were "crunchy muffin" and... "dirty old man". Weird names but delicious! Would love to come back and try more in the future. Read more
Always a good time and delicious meal at Starfish Sushi! Love the ambiance of the restaurant, it's great for family gatherings... or date nights. They have a big menu that is sure to have options that cater to any sushi lover, and for people who don't likesushi they have entrees such as steak, chicken, and salmon. I love that they have black rice, it's my favorite and not allplaces have that option! Green turtle, black dragon, spicy octopus, Alaskan king crab, and salmon sunshine are some of myfavorites.
