Reservations strongly recommend! The wine and staff and Linden are both tremendous. Offering a delicious selection of wines... from their estate and grapes grown nearby, don't pass up the chance to come in for a tasting if you want an example of fantasticwine from Virginia. Read more

If you want to experience one of the pinnacle’s of VA wine, Linden is a reservation you must make. Jim and his team are doing... incredible things for VA wine and the future of the industry here. Just note, you must buy a case to stay after the tasting butit’s not hard to make the case purchase after tasting his wines. Also, Linden has a very knowledgeable and welcoming tastingroom staff. I’ve been going to Linden Vineyards for many years, and love it! The wine is the best in VA, full stop. We’re not case club... members, but we’ve always been treated with courtesy and kindness, probably because we respect the staff and follow thevineyard’s rules. P.S. all the bad reviews sound like they were written by entitled people with no taste in wine, I’m glad Ididn’t run into them on any of my visits. Luckily everyone I’ve met on trips there has been lovely! Read more

I received a recommendation from a friend at work to visit this place on an unexpected day off -- and I am absolutely grateful... for the recommendation!! We (a friend and I) were greeted with kind and friendly staff (and even the owner for a briefinteraction) who took care of us every step of the way. The staff even upgraded our tasting since they had room to accommodate, which was thoughtful and unexpected (but normally due to crowds they are not always able to do this, so please be kind if theycannot!). The wine was excellent -- I thoroughly enjoyed the Claret and found their Rose to be one of the best in Virginia! Please, if you're in the area, make sure you make a reservation to see the beauty (and taste) and Linden Vineyards! You will notbe disappointed! Read more

We had a wonderful experience at Linden last week. Our group really enjoyed the educational and interesting comparison tastings,... instead of the typical tasting that includes one wine after another. Linden allows guests to taste two different SauvignonBlancs, for example, side by side and consider the differences from year to year. The staff was very welcoming, the setting wasbeautiful even on a very stormy day, and we all left with several bottles of great wine. Read more

Without a doubt the best winery in the region. It’s been me and my extended family’s favorite for years. We appreciate the... atmosphere, amazing wines, expertise of staff, and gorgeous views from the terrace. The place is definitely different fromothers in that it’s run like a great winery, not like a bar or picnic grounds. Our favorites are the Hardscrabble andRiesling. Read more

Once every couple of years my husband and I stop at Linden on the way home from other, better wineries with nicer atmospheres.... We stop only to buy a single, extremely over-priced, but delicious nonetheless, bottle of the Hardscrabble Red. This is thesingle redeeming quality of an otherwise unimpressive and inhospitable destination, and honestly, if they sold it at any storesnear us, we wouldn't even bother with the winery. Having periodically visited them over the last 10 years both on weekdays andweekends, I can tell you they are never busy. Never ever have I seen more than one or two other parties present, and sometimeswe are the only ones there. Despite that, they are quick to let you know as soon as you walk in to the mediocre wooden building, that you are welcome to pay for a tasting, but then you must leave. You see, you cannot stay to enjoy a glass of one of thewines you just paid to taste, unless you are a wine club member. At this point, we just wave them off and tell them we're onlythere to buy a retail bottle - and they're all smiles. "Ooohh, yes, spend your money here and don't expect a modicum of customerservice", their look says. And, to our fault, we do give them our money. But the inhospitable, underwhelming atmosphere cannotbe overstated. Even if you are a wine club member, all that gets you access to is a grubby little room with some windows and afew tables. Stone Tower or Breaux, this place is not! Reading some of the other reviews, they seem paid for. The ones thatmention "oh, they were just so friendly as soon as we walked in and got us seated for our reservation right away" - those peopleare wine club members. They literally paid for the right to sit there, so don't be fooled. I hope this review helps people stayaway from this place. There are so many other wineries in the area with delicious wine and food, who are happy to have youthere. Don't waste your time at Linden. Read more

This was my first time here. What a pleasant surprise compared to other wineries. So personal and quiet. Jim Law stopped by our... table to pass on his inside knowledge (being the wine maker and owner). Becky was very personable and a great addition to theLinden family. Stacie was wonderful, very knowledgeable, and an absolute gem. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and will return. Highly recommended a visit for those who want to learn and understand Virginia wines.
