On Saturday Oct 29 I was in the Lindenwold area so I stopped in to get two platters. Normally we go to the Oaklyn location. ... Been going for years. We were shocked at the difference. Whiting- Fried earlier and the skin was chewy. Collards were gritty. The Cornbread was so dry that after taking a bite it fell apart. And finally, the Mac and cheese was so over cooked it lookedlike Mac n Mash. The pasta was so overcooked. We love their baked chicken in Oaklyn. The back chicken in Lindenwold was toughand dry. I was one of her biggest supporters. I loved a good ol fish platter or her salmon cakes. This Friday. I dined in and the food... was really horrible. The fish tasted like the grease needed to be changed . My collard greens tasted sweet. Everything was allbad and I was shocked. Because I pick her soul food any time over Corrines . Their food was quite truthfully out of this world. I have been in the industry for 18 years, went to culinary school, and have... eaten at some reputable restaurants. This team blows most of that away. Nothing lacked flavor or seasoning. They were so kindand so welcoming. This was my first experience and I can say they just gained a new loyal customer. The food was excellent. I ordered the turkey wings that were cooked with perfection, and the fish was delicious. The reason I give 2 stars is because staff were friendly? other than that everything else wasn?t great. My family and I were on... vacation n decided to get soul food .. this place seem like wasn?t ready for a large crowd? on top of all that this place had noair what so ever ! Ridiculous! Customer service was excellent, restaurant was very clean and neat. Fry fish whitey was delicious. The cabbage and green mix was... delicious. The potato salad was OK as well as the sweet potatoes, corn bread was dry, Lemon pound cake with frosting andcoconut pound cake, was ok Pound cake usually has plenty of butter you couldn't taste the butter on none of the sweets or thesweet potatoes.
