As I am in search of the states best whiskey bars and old fashion drink. I came across this bar. Which is located in downtown... Lisle. Our server was excellent and very accommodating, he recommend a few different drink and food options. I ordered the29er and must say this drink was top notch. We were there a couple weeks ago for a wedding. In 4 days, our group went on 3. All the food we got was amazing, loved the... French onion soup! Plenty of options when it came to the drinks. And the people and service was top notch! We had a largegroup and they were very accommodating. Which I took photos to share, but the food was all so good, I forgot. Stopped by here for lunch with out of town friends. The neighborhood street it sits on is in the downtown area and is very cute... giving hallmark vibes. It was a weekday so it was quiet but picked up around the lunch hour. Our waiter was very kind andprovided us with his recommendations when asked. They have a large menu with plenty of selections for picky eaters. Food tastedvery good, better than I expected. I had chicken and waffles with chips which were delicious. My friend ordered us the whiskeydonuts which reminded us of Louisiana beignets. It?s a good size dish that is easily shareable between 3-4 people. I would eathere again and recommend it to friends. Lived here for two years and finally went here after I moved. Was so surprised at the food selection! Thought it was mainly a... bar for whisky but there is something for everyone here. Of course I had to get an old fashion, but hot chicken sandwich anddonuts were fire! Waitress was super nice and definitely will be coming back. Read more
Everything about this place is wonderful. Best meal I've had in a while (and I do probably more of my share of dining out). They... get busy, so plan ahead. I had the house variant on an Old Fashioned. It was aromatic and delicious. The man had Rogue's DeadGuy (one of his favorite beers) on tap -- a rare find on this side of the map. My chicken and waffles were delicious, leaning alittle more toward the sweet end of the spectrum with a garnish of powdered sugar and berries. And because I was in the mood, Iordered the side of elote, which was really freaking good. It's now about 10 days after this meal, and I can recall it clearly.When I asked the man just now whether he had anything to say about the place he said, "The ambience was nice in there." Hedoesn't talk much about such things, so that amounts to high praise. The one minor drawback is parking. It's a downtownlocation, so street parking is possible if you get lucky. If you don't, there's a decent-sized lot located a quick walk behindthe restaurant that seems to be evenly split between permit parking and free public use -- just make sure you're in the rightsection. Do not let parking be a reason to skip this place. It's excellent. Read more
I went to this restaurant on a Monday afternoon for Valentine's Day with my husband and another couple. The waiter didn't... remember much about which whiskey drinks were served on the flight menu. He was nice but lacked details on food and drink items.I also found this place especially quiet. I felt like my friends and I had to whisper while talking to each other. The musicplaying was a good selection of music but again, very quiet ambiance. I felt like everyone was listening to my conversation. Thedrinks were average. The bacon wrapped shrimp was the best food item we ordered. For some reason, they charged $1 for the largeice cubes - that's so odd to me. I would go back but only out of convenience. Read more
The poutine was delicious. We also enjoyed the soup, burger, chicken and waffles and a side of elote.
