I placed an online order for pick up. I waited an hour for an omelette with hash browns and a 2X2X2, which is two buttermilk... pancakes, 2 scrambled eggs, and 2 sausage links. Several staff working in the restaurant kept repeatedly asking me what Iordered. They checked in the kitchen, and assured me that my order was almost ready, and it was only going to be a few minutes.This went on for an hour. They took payment for my order the moment I walked through the door. When I finally received my order,another staff member asked me for a form of payment. I showed him my receipt, he looked at it and he asked to see my debit card.I thought he was going to give a refund or a discount. He tried to charge me again! I repeated that I already paid. That's whenhe told me not to order online. He said I needed to call directly, or come in and order in person because the system doesn'tdownload efficiently, and the restaurant doesn't get the orders sometimes. Several other customers arrived after I did. Someordered online, others called in. They waited just like I did. The problem I saw is that too many staff was milling around thedining area, and somebody needed to be in the kitchen helping with the cooking to roll out the backlogged orders. Party of 2 for Breakfast We have not been to this Ihop in a long time. We entered, greeted warmly and seated quickly. The dining... room was a little dark and our table had some old, spilled syrup on it. Our server came by, apologized and quickly wiped it up. She took our orders and the food came out quickly. While we were eating, we could hear some yelling and arguing from thekitchen. The food tasted as expected. For the most part, this was a quick better than average visit. Won't be returning here. Scheduled a breakfast meeting with three TLAB friends, 9am on a Saturday morning. First thing I noticed... was that the place was fairly empty, I thought this was a good thing. Our food would come out faster. I was wrong. Next afterspotting my friends who had already arrived, I headed towards their table. I almost lost my balance on the slick floor rightbehind the host desk. Saw the yellow triangle out thinking they must have just mopped. But wrong again. One of my friends saidhe almost fell too and mentioned it to a staff member. And that's when they placed the triangle out , moments before I arrived.The entire floor, at least in my area felt greasy and slick, and dirty, like a dirty restroom floor. Was there over an hour andno one addressed it. Very nice server, but just as we thought the food should be coming out, she came by our table and said,they forgot to put the ticket and it just now was put in. So the food should be out in 5 minutes. We were confused. Whilesitting talking and waiting, we noticed that several ceiling lights were out, including the one directly over our table. Theceiling tile were water stained and painted to cover previous stains. Not what you want to eat under. The food didn't taste badthough, but no further explanation or apology for the delay. As soon as you walk in this IHOP on Panola rd. The Hip Hop music is loud and offensive. The place is dimly lit which makes it... look very dirty the walls and decor is filthy. Even though they were short staffed, we really received great service. The portions were smaller but good. The server let us... know ahead of time that it would be a delay due to the staff shortage and that was very appreciated. Our server also brought ourutensils in hot water which was awesome!!! Everything was great. Our server was very kind as well. I'm not a IHOP fan but this may change my mine.
I dont think I've ever given a one-star rating before, but I was utterly disappointed with my experience at this location.... Honestly, I think all IHOPs are going downhill, but this one in particular has hit rock bottom. Came here after midnight with afriend and was seated fairly quickly since the place was pretty empty. One of the first things I noticed was that there wasstill holiday decor on the windows and it just seemed lazy that it was still there when it's almost February. The second thingthat was off was when I asked for a Splashberry drink, which I always order. The server said that they dont make those anymore.I had to clarify that it was just this location because I ate at another location 2 weeks ago and they made Splashberries. Iordered a lemonade instead and asked her to add strawberry sauce to it. Turns out that the strawberry lemonade was amazing, butthat was the only thing that was enjoyable. I ordered my usual bacon temptation omelette and pancakes, which came out fairlyquickly, but before the food came there was another server that made a loud announcement throughout the entire restaurant sayingthat they had to serve everyone's food in to-go containers because they were currently washing dishes. Soooo you mean to tell methat you don't have a SINGLE dish ready to serve food. Food comes and my omelette looks great, but had no taste. This is myusual order so I am very familiar with what it tastes like, and this wasn't it...even the pancakes didn't taste great. My friendhad cheese grits and they were so runny that he didn't eat them. When he said something to the server, she said that she doesn'tlike runny grits either, but never offered to bring more or do anything about it. There was also a particular employee that wasloud, argumentative with other coworkers, unprofessional, and used profanity. I gave the atmosphere a 3 because there are always people crashing in the lobby which is a bit annoying, but other than that I... got the country fried steak and eggs with pancakes. It was delicious and the serving size was huge. I had leftovers enough formy boyfriend to have a whole meal himself. I ordered take out so I'm not sure about the service overall, but the girl was verypleasant and quick to get my order. I would definitely order here again. Read more
