Reviews for Magnolias Restaurant in St Paul, MN
It's been 38 years since I last ate at Magnolia's. I grew up blocks away. I can hardly believe it still exists, and I don't... think much has changed. This is an East Side staple - where locals eat often and the waitress knows their names and their ordersas soon as they walk in. She'll call you "dear" whether she knows you or not. You'll hear the locals talking about their cares. My family used to come here for their Prime Rib special. For nostalgia sake I returned, this time for breakfast. I had the EyeOpener - two slices of French Toast, scrambled eggs, and sausage patties. It was spot on, precisely what you're looking for in abreakfast and the French Toast was, as they say, the best in town. I loved the cinnamon topping. Thanks for the deliciousbreakfast and the memories. Read more

An OG breakfast spot. Stick to the menu and you'll be good. One of my tablemates requested a few meal substitutions and there... seemed very little room for deviation. I'd go back to try another meal. Read more

What a gem of Saint Paul?s east side. I?m so glad this place made it through the pandemic. Enjoyed a big helping of pancakes... with real whipped butter and a delicious, simple blueberry syrup. I can?t decide if I like regular or blueberry syrup better. The service is humble, direct and attentive. This is exactly what you want and expect in a local restaurant. There?s an edgyattitude, and I like it. We enjoyed our meal and I look forward to coming back. Portions are generous and restaurant is clean, tidy and cozy. Read more
A few weeks ago a friend and I went to Magnolias. They serve breakfast all day and have many options on their menu. I had one... of the breakfasts. The food came to me hot. Eggs were over easy like I asked for. You get a lot of crispy hash browns and thesausage links were great. I also had biscuit and gravy. The gravy was seasoned nicely with the sausage and the biscuit wastender. The price is up there a bit but it does fill you up. I recommend Magnolias on Payne Avenue. I gave them four starsbecause of the prices. Read more
