Went a few days after the Portnoy review. Ordered the round pie thin and crispy and it was spectacular! Well done Sun-Ray!
I ordered pasta with vodka sauce, and when I got home and started eating, I noticed there was meat in it. I?m a vegetarian, so I... called back and asked if they make their vodka sauce with meat, and they said ?Yes, we put bacon in it?. It does not sayanywhere on their menu that there is any type of meat in the vodka sauce, and I told them this, and then asked if I?d be able tocome in and get another dish instead as a replacement. They said ?No, it?s your responsibility to inform us or ask about anyfood allergies when ordering.? How am I supposed to tell them to not put bacon in my pasta if the menu doesn?t say it containsbacon? They said, ?That?s what vodka sauce is, that?s how everyone makes it. Vodka sauce is tomatoes, cream, and bacon.? That ismost definitely not how ?most places make it? because I have ordered from so many other restaurants that have never put bacon intheir vodka sauce, and if they did, it was clearly stated on the menu, and said this to them. I asked again if there was any wayI could sub the dish for another, and they said no. I was being nothing but polite and nice on the phone since I work in arestaurant and deal with customers everyday. I didn?t even ask for a refund, just a replacement so they didn?t lose any moneyout of this. It sucks, because the sandwich my boyfriend ordered was delicious, but we probably won?t ever be going back becausethey did absolutely nothing to try to resolve this issue. So don?t get the vodka sauce from here if you?re vegetarian or don?teat pork for religious reasons!!!! Read more
It's a pick up and go....and the best Sicilian pizza I've ever had. And we've been going to the same place for 30 years.
Sun-ray pizza has been my favorite for 44 years. The Sicilian with sausage is the best I ever had.
Moving out of NJ after 30 years so I decided to review our best pizza places. One bite everyone knows the rules... The dinning... experience is incredible! Classic New Jersey Italian pizza, indoor seating outdoor seating bring it home it?s goodanywhere! Medium thickness Sicilian style with a nice layer of cheese and perfect blend of sauce with some Basel. I?m not acrust guy but the crust is thin and has a slightly greesy almost fried taste that I enjoy. Very great place never noticed itbecause it?s hidden behind rare steakhouse. So far, so good. Good start to a continuous possible relationship. Pizza was good. Had it by the slice (square only)...my... favorite anyway. Was definitely tasty. Well crafted and delicious. Thankfully, we decided to order sandwiches. They are veryhealthy portions and the cheesteak and the chicken parm sandwiches did not lack meat or chicken. Very generous portion, verywell priced. Solid pizza. The barstool is good. Sauce is a little sweet for me, but the pizza wasn't bad. Did not like the sicilian slice... unfortunately. If ordering the barstool pie (thin and well-done), definitely eat hot! Read more
