What do eels, a duck and espresso have in common? They were excellent. The barbecue eel was cooked very well with a wonderful... teriyaki sauce but the sesame slaw really sealed the deal. Grilled duck breast was incredibly tender with a wonderful side ofveggies, rice and quinoa. Blueberry creme brulee for dessert and a ristretto to top it all off. If you get a chance to stop inthe food and service are excellent and you get to eat inside a freaking castle. Read more

Do not go during a wedding! I added this as a surprise to our vacation plans with my girlfriend. We drove 2 1/2 hours to... experience fine dining here before we continued our trip to the Adirondacks. I was excited and willing to splurge a little biton a fancy diner before a week of camping and trail mix. When we arrived we were greeted with some beautiful scenery and agorgeous castle. The interior was very nice as well. The hostess and waitress were very polite and diligent. The food itselfwas delicious and so was the wine. After dinner we briefly visited the dungeon downstairs and that was probably the coolestpart of the whole place. Unfortunately they were closing up at 9pm so we were unable to get a drink. After we were seated wenoticed that our table was in a high traffic area. There was a wedding upstairs and drunken guests were constantly walking backand forth by our table and it was a bit loud and disruptive of our meal. The odd part was that we were in a completely emptyroom that had multiple tables open tables that had more privacy. Then we noticed that there was no music on our floor. We werelistening to muffled dance music coming through the floor above us. As the night went on, the music turned to louder,bass-heavy songs. Which is not what I had hoped to be listening to during a nice dinner. I was not annoyed by the wedding orit?s guests, but rather at the restaurant itself. The wedding sounded like fun and I?m sure I would have enjoyed it if I was aguest but I wasn?t. I will also mention that the water tasted like sulfur and there was also an air-vent directly above mygirlfriends seat that dripped water on her. Normally I wouldn?t complain about this sort of thing and I would barely evennotice it. However, I had high expectations for this place and that?s why I was willing to spend more than normal on 1dinner. Beardslee is my all- time favorite restaurant & it never disappoints! It looks & feels like something out of a fairytale. The... landscaping is gorgeous no matter what time of year you go. The waitstaff are always very friendly & the service is great. Thefood is the best around. Perfect for a romantic night out or with a group. I highly recommend! Read more
Recording said they were fully booked. Called later and got reservations for 7:30. Arrived and found a nearly empty restaurant... upstairs. Still had to wait 30 minutes for table. Went to bar in the basement, the castle's dungeon, only to be ignored by threevery busy bartenders. We went upstairs to ask about our table, and it was ready...although it had not changed in the past halfhour! Still only one other couple in the room and several empty tables. Took another hour to get our food. My pasta wasundercooked.. it needed another few minutes prep just to make it Allende! Inedible. The shrimp and scallops were tasty. Be sureto ask about salads. Apparently a garden salad comes with the meal, so don't bother ordering the cooked greens. Which, by theway, contains meats. Vegetarians beware. Wife ordered the chicken breasts which came with a really tasteless and dry rice cakething. Couldn't eat it. Friend ordered bbq eel. He loves eel, but this had a fishy smell and taste. He was not enthused. Oh, andwe sent back the ice water which smelled like sulfer. They brought us bottled water for which they charged $2.00 each. By thetime we were finished we were there for almost two hours and never saw more than two couples upstairs. Be prepared to be ignoredand possibly disappointed in ur food. All things considered, a throughly unsatisfactory meal and service. Dinner for five cameto over $215.00... does not include any alcohol which we paid for separately. Recommend u try the bar and take photos. Then ucan say u ate in a replica or an Irish Castle. Read more
I had my wedding at Beardslee Castle and it was absolutely perfect! The staff were all friendly and helpful, the food was... delicious and the venue is stunningly beautiful. I am so grateful for everyone for all the work they put in! Thank you, thankyou! Read more
The castle is stunning, the wait staff outstanding, and the food delicious. I had the salmon, and my husband ordered the steak.... We split a caprese salad and a banana bread dessert. All of it yummy. A spectacular experience! Photos to come! Read more
We had the most wonderful time here. I did my wedding proposal here. They let me set up a thousand solar lanterns in the trees... and rose petals and music. My fiancé thought she was coming to a wedding and instead got surprised with my bachelor styleproposal and said yes. The atmosphere and food was great. We are planning a date next weekend to come back for dinner. Theowners are good people. They seem to care a lot about their guest. Read more
