I would have given this place a 4 any other time. I've been here half a dozen times in the past. I stopped in on Tuesday... evening. Sat at a high table cause the bar was full. Sat there for 15 min before the bartender even made eye contact. At thattime I was on my phone, she looked my way I motioned 1 minute. Sat another 10 minutes, no service, I Left..... This is the most amazing place, not only because they have the best experience at mining Herkimer Diamond than the competitors,... (and I say that due to my experience having mined a few of the competitors) but add on top of that the fact that it?s all shadedwhich makes a world of difference. But the #1 thing that makes this place the best is the hospitality that you are given fromthe moment you step out of your car to the last moments you have as the owner drives you back out of the mining areas so youdon?t have to walk anywhere! But the bathrooms close by the mining areas! He personally drives you in as well! They havegeologists on site really eager to give you a hand in any way you need and the owners 3 sons are awesome!! Don?t forget to saythank you and come off a tip when you are given their service to carry your equipment into the car, they are young gentleman anddeserve learning that hard work is appropriated. All in all I have enjoyed each trip to the mines up here, everyone of them havegreat things to offer but these guys are way my favorite because they offer the whole picture including real good people whomake you fee welcome from the start and feel more like a good friend by the time you leave. They are great people with hugehearts and they are all just as involved with the experience as you are! You will want to go back the minute you get home.
