Slicks is the real deal for a variety of food if you are in the downtown area. Conveniently located off of Main St, they have... one of the best 1/2lb cheeseburgers you will sink your teeth into. I've seen this place multiple times in the atrium having visited the office building, and finally decided today was the day to... grab the cheeseburger special to go. If I could give 0 I would. I ordered a Texas Grilled Club to be delivered to my husband for lunch today. Delivered through... postmates. When he got the sandwich there was a GLOVE stuck to it. Not the delivery bag itself, but the sandwich. My husbandcalled and he said the owner was very rude. I could have ordered subway but I wanted to support a small business during thistime.. my mistake. I've been standing at their counter on a regular basis for almost 11 years now. Guy and Cara are two of the nicest people... you'll ever meet and they greet you with a smile. They serve both breakfast and lunch. The food is always fresh and theperfect temperature. Each day there is a different lunch special, these are the ones I remember...Wednesdays are hand pattiedcheeseburgers, Thursdays are hand breaded chicken tenders, Fridays are catfish and cobbler. I honestly can't remember everhaving bad service or an issue with something I ordered. Should you have an issue, all you have to do is say something and theywill fix it. They treat their customers fairly. A word of advice...I sometimes eat a late lunch and have on a couple ofoccasions not realized the time when I tried to order. They stop cooking at 2:00 so make sure you get your order in beforethen. You can get a chef salad after 2:00 (I know because that's my go to if I'm too late). I'm sure there are a few otherthings you could get, I've just never asked. As far as the couple of 1 star reviews...really you're going to give 1 starbecause they were closed or you're going to give 1 star because they wouldn't sell you empty containers? NEWS FLASH - it's asandwich shop, not a Wal-Mart. Buy some food and review that instead. Read more
Decent food but not for the price. This place is waaaay overpriced for what it is. $13 for a Reuben fries and drink. The Reuben... wasnt even that good, instead of thousand island there's dijon mustard and the cabbage wasnt even close to crunchy. The brisketor corned beef that was supposed to be there was more like chopped beef. Hamburgers are ok. Not great bit ok. If you are ok withpaying more than $10 for lunch then go here. Read more
