Wines are OK. If you don't mind paying $10/person usage fee for the privilege of sipping wine sitting on a lawn bench while the... strong Livermore Valley wind blows dirt from the adjacent parking lot in your face.... well, this place is for you. Of courseyou could sit on the patio away from the parking lot and somewhat shielded from the wind... but it'll cost you more. Read more
An ok winery experience, wasn’t really crazy for any of the wines. If you decide to sit outside with your party for wine... tasting and if anyone is not drinking you will be charged $5 additional a person (never been to a winery that does that). Niceatmosphere, will give them that. Read more
MUST HAVE RESERVATIONS. For some reason all the vineyards have gone to a reservation system and you can't just hop around... anymore. Second, they "don't ship wine in the summer". It's June right now and I was just told that I'd have to wait untilNovember for my wine. WHAT?!? so they lose a star for those two reasons but their wine is quite lovely and they are known fortheir Cabernet Sauvignon for good reason. Also a beautiful setting so worth the visit. Read more
Great experience. Friendly welcoming staff. When we walked in it felt like they were waiting just for us. The patio area was... super clean. Our server, Charles was clearly knowledgeable about wine, the regions, etc. He interacted with us and made thetasting experience entertaining. My only complaint is that the amount of wine in each tasting was smaller than what we areaccustom to. The wines were good. We bought 3 different varietals. Read more
Wine tasting at McGrail was superb! You can easily make your reservation online, pay ahead, and come for a nice getaway from the... city. It was my first time wine tasting in Livermore and was pleasantly surprised by all the scenery. My friend and I stopped byon a Friday morning at 11:30AM and was seated immediately outside (heaters available!). It was kind of breezy but the heatersand wine definitely helps! A trip to McGrail Vineyards and Winery is always a good time. Love the wines, their Cabs are my personal favorites, and the... views from here are amazing!! The staff is always friendly and quite knowledgeable. Aside from purchasing wine they also havesome other home decor and wine accessories for sale. Barrel room jam was delightful. Dog friendly. Loved the Charles Ray chard and Timeless cab.
