Detriot Bagel Factory has great bagels and sandwiches but some of their employees are just plain rude and unhelpful. I have gone... in more than once and been told that i should have called ahead or been treated like they did not want me to be there orderingtheir food. Today i did try to call ahead, since Ive been told to before and was met with hostility since they close within thehour. I would have been there within 10 minutes. Great bagels, terrible service. I have only gone twice and 3 out of 3 employees have been incredibly rude. Based on past reviews... this is a trend and not an exception. I will take my hard earned money elsewhere because this place does not deserve it andfrankly it does not seem to care to earn it anyway. I hope they improve their attitudes because they just permanently lost twobagel loving customers. We will never be returning. Good riddance. Read more
I've had great and terrible experiences with bagels here. Not consistent in quality...years before the pandemic. I decided to... try them again today, but decided to do my research... Their website Advertises a Tuesday special; 13 bagels, a bakers dozen,for $9. Also states to call your bagel order in before 11am and within 20 minutes they can prepare fresh hot bagels. On aTuesday, I call at 10am, tell them what 13 bagels I want...lady tells me " that's a bakers dozen, you're only getting 12bagels"....um..okay. I tell her i want fresh hot bagels, hence why I'm calling ahead. She says " well they won't be freshfresh, but yeah they're fresh". I pick them up at the stated time. Cold bagels, very gummy exterior...no crisp. $10, not the$9 stated, and not the bakers dozen. I would gladly pay more for quality, good, "fresh fresh" bagels. Their website is ajoke, completely inaccurate in every sense. I guess I gotta just plan the long drive to New York Bagel in Ferndale next time. Read more
0 stars. Waste of a lunch break.I was fooled by the reviews. The cream cheese tastes watered down. No flavor, seems like they... just added pink dye to the strawberry cream cheese. The everything bagel is over salted. Each bite tastes like salty oceanwater. The bread is stale. Coffee is so watered down it?s ridiculous. I?ve actually never walked into a place and immediately wanted to leave because of the service. The older woman greets people by... angrily saying ?how many are you getting? and is absolutely zero help to anyone that hasn?t been there before. It was as ifasking for a menu was a foreign topic to her and I was offending her by spending money at this place. I?m sure they have greatoptions for bagels and I?m sure if I was helped in a calming and polite manor I would?ve enjoyed it but I just felt extremelydisrespected and uncomfortable from how the older woman was speaking to me and answering my apparently never heard of questions.I then proceeded to give her an order because I felt pressured and forced to not waste her time and she brought up pricing andhow much It Would be with lox as if she didn?t want me to order it.. thankfully a nicer younger man came out to ring me up and Ifelt more at ease but I really never want to return for one reason and one reason only.. that woman Read more
Bagels are really great but the only reason I gave them 2 stars is because of the poor customer service and mean attitudes from... the older women here. This was my third visit and each time has been unpleasant. Would help if they were friendly and didnt makeit seem as if I was a bother when placing my order. Probably won?t return and will try to find another local bagel place. Read more
