Reviews for The Brass Rail in Locust Valley, NY
Only been one time, I was impressed, had a great dish. Definitely coming back in the future. This may be the best fine dining... restaurant I been to in the local area. It's not the cheapest or most expensive place ive come across in the area but I think itwas worth it. Read more
Looking for a restaurant on Long Island since we are from Florida and red the glowing reviews. Went with our kids, my... brother-in-law, and our daughter-in-law's mother who are all New Yorkers. We were seated in the bar area in front of the diningroom. I started with Blue Point Oysters on the half shell, very good. My wife ordered the soup du jour, Mushroom soup, justfair. For mains, my wife tried the Short Rib Quesadilla which she thought was ok. Being a duck fan and in Long Island, howcould you not ordered the Seared Long Island Duck Breast, roasted black grapes, Brussel sprouts & pancetta, sweet potato puree, black grape & balsamic jus. Unfortunately i was disappointed. Read more

Service was very good and the food was amazing. The Chef out did themselves. Started with the Blue Point Oysters, so fresh and... delicious. Next, Halibut on a bed of cauliflower. spinach and potatoes, amazing. Not salty which so many chefs over season.Ended with the pear and cherry cobbler and a cappuccino. Oh what an ending, perfect, not overly sweet, just perfect. When theyasked " Would you like anything else?" I said the Chef! But,they wouldn't let me take them home in a doggy bag, darn! Thank youfor exceeding my expectations! Read more
Amazing food. Cooked perfectly... Paige was a fantastic server. Lovely decor .. and a helluva Manhattan too!!
Cozy, romantic atmosphere with upscale, American food. Great appetizer and small plate selection. The chicken parmesan special... is generally the best around, but the last few times it was a little disappointing. They seem to have cracked at that though andit's back on par. The hanger steak and Coq au Vin is very good. Prices are in the mid-to-high range. Read more
Very pretty smoky moody type of decor which we found very cozy. The restaurant has been around a long time and the food is quite... good but the salads leave a little to be desired. The bloody Mary was spicy so if you like a spicy one definitely order it. thelobster bisque was excellent Read more
