We had an amazing lunch that was worth every penny. Everything was incredibly tasty and the location is amazing. Normally I... would be more than happy to leave 5 stars but when we got the check we were left disappointed by just one thing, which will makeme think three times before going back. The waitress suggested we get Oktoberfest beers (still from the local brewery) which wehappily did. However, while all other beers on the menu were 5-8$, these (not on the menu) got charged 11$ each. Being aware oftheir cost compared to other cans priced right (not so different actually) we felt as if we had been takes advantage of. Such asilly way to unjustifiably raise the bill when we happily got appetizers, entrees and dessert. Read more
Drove here for 40 minutes from Ithaca on a Saturday lunch with my friends. The exterior of the restaurant gave me a very good... first impression, especially the entrance and we got the outdoor seats. The staffs were effectively fast response and superfriendly also they gave us a heads up that the offered menu is authentic Austrian food which was why we went to Dano's in thefirst place! The foods were all delicious, I ordered the Wiener Schnitzel ? the taste was super clean and the hint of salt ontop of the crunch enhanced the flavor even more. My side dishes were Spätzle, a small noodle with eggs which was okay so Isaved it with a bit of salt and pepper, and seasonal veggies to supply my daily intake of vegetables. Lovely placethey?ve put a lot of thought into this place. Great service. We tried this place for the first time today, and will... definitely be back. Our server loved her job and was excited and very knowledgeable. She shared all the information about themenu, owners and the property. They use several local Ingredients. Amazing. The mashed potatoes are otherworldly. Don't sleep on them. Drop all your plans just to go get them. The schnitzel, red... cabbage, and everything else is amazing. But it pales in comparison to those mashed potatoes. Oh my god, just thinking aboutthem. I need them right now. Read more
This was our first time here as we were on vacation and it was a true experience. The food was extremely fresh and made as... ordered. The waiter we had was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and beverage pairings. All of the dishes were burstingwith authentic and complex flavors that built with each layer. The farmers plate came with a mustard on the side that is madein house, the waiter explained that you only received a small amount by design as it packs a punch, 100% on point! Not that itwas spicy, but that with its profile you really only needed a dab. We also ordered the wienerschnitzel, it came out perfectlyseasoned, the meat was tender, and breading crisp. For dessert we had the apple strudel, it was flakey and delicious. We willmost certainly return when we're in the area again! Read more
