10/22 Service was good, our waitress was attentive and checked on us/cleared dishes. We ordered the Fried Pickles, Meat Sampler... and BBQ Chicken Melt Dinner. Based on the number of reviews and overall rating I had high expectations. I was pretty disappointed in the smoked wings and... would not recommend them at all. They were smoked and had good flavor but they had a pretty slimy texture. They needed somekind of crisp or char on them by flash frying or grilling at the end. Brisket was fine, pulled pork was better. We were able toorder by the 1/2 pound which is nice so you aren't paying for all the sides. Good options for keto/carnivore. I so very much wanted this experience to be good, it just wasn't! Waited almost an hour, which I understand if it's good, but as... I mentioned, it was not! I had the Texas brisket. Small portion, my beans where cold, and the brisket was dry. My husband had acombo plate. His ribs were cold, brisket dry, but he loved the beans. Also, they only had 1 option for dessert. Disappointed to say the least. For $16.99 you'd think they could have more than 3 pieces of brisket on the platter. The... presentation was marginal and after one bite I could tell this had been sitting. The brisket was EXTREMELY dry. I've eatenbrisket at several places around the country and this would be close to the bottom of the list if not THE bottom. The best partabout my meal was the side Caesar salad. It was fresh and crisp. The other person with me ordered the cheese burger and fries.The burger was very rare which was our fault because we didn't say medium or medium well. The fries, well just look at thepicture. They came out as a ball of grease. Another positive was our server. She was polite and attentive. Not sure how this place considers themselves a BBQ joint. The BBQ sauce was nothing but sugar and very very thin. I was... extremely disappointed with my meal, I ordered the BBQ Chicken Melt. The chicken was a super strange texture, almost like it wasprocessed and then put back into breast form. It had ZERO flavor and honestly seemed like it was microwaved vs a truetraditional grill cooked breast. They used what looked to be a Colby Jack cheese which also had ZERO cheese flavor and the baconwas eh. I absolutely DO NOT recommend this dish. However the sweet potato was baked to perfection and the butter was good..butwhy the heck would you provide such a large amount of cinnamon and sugar as a topping and not offer a traditional honey? Odd.The Cesar side salad was fine, nothing special. Their little corn bread muffins were very good, as was the fried Green Beans.For 2 people ordering the same meal, hot appetizer, and two cokes it was $50. The service initially was great when we wereseated and drink order taken, after that it went down hill from there. Best BBQ in Ohio. Sweet & Smoky or Spicy house BBQ sauces. I had baked beans, pulled pork sandwich (ordered slaw to go on top... proper southern style) with fries. The fries were nice & crisp, beans very good, sauces excellent bun was toasted. Came withcornbread minis, also good. I'd go back again & again. Read more
Really great food! Very southern comfort food. Place looked really busy but we were sat right away, appetizer and drinks came... out really fast. There was a slightly long wait on our meals (which I did not complain about I understand things happen) and ourwaitress even gave us 20% off the bill for the long wait! Didn?t expect that but did appreciate it! Not from the area butanytime we are back here we will return for dinner! So good! Read more
