Great shrimp and broccoli. The lunch specials are a great value. Huge portions.
I ate here and the food was all but inedible. I ate two shrimp and it made me sick so I threw the rest away and felt bad for... hours. The shrimp had so much batter and it was so hard, the flimsy plastic fork could not penetrate them. Stay away! Read more
I don't often leave a review for a business unless our experience is really bad or really good. Well, China Star is very good... ! We've made 4 family sized purchases these last few months and have been pleasantly surprised. Here's what we've noticed. Thedinner shrimp are much larger and more numerous than the competition, the beef is tender and not chewy, and the chicken has anice texture and is not rubbery like other places... The portions are generous and they even include cardboard squares in yourto-go bags to keep your bagged dinners stable. A nice detail for sure. China Star is MUCH better than that other place in VillaPark also on Roosevelt. Read more
This food was terrible. I can see by past comments that they take pride in making nasty food, since they are not taking any... steps to change. I wish I would have looked at the reviews first. The Crab Rangoon, was literally the worst i have ever had.There was no crab in sight, and it consisted of greasy fried bread filled with cream cheese and huge pieces of onions. I eat at all Chinese restaurants and was not happy at all with this one. Went in for lunch and was offered the regular priced... items, when they had a lunch price special for the exact thing I wanted. First thing the cashier should always offer is thelunch special prices during lunch. Definitely felt ripped off. Plus the food wasn't good. I'll bring it home to make it better.I don't recommend it. Lo mein had huge pieces of meat and veggies, over soy sauced, everything was bad. The China Star in Wheaton is better, this... place doesn’t even taste the same. Read more
