If it's got the Marinated Steak and Eggs (Originally from Tommy's that was in DT Torrance) on the menu, it's a south bay spot to... check out. Felt said dish was pricey for the portion but still delicious. Also the other south bay staple is in the menu: theJohn Wayne breakfast. The owner is very involved in all aspects of the business, greets you and makes sure everything is good,and is super friendly! Overall definitely go! Read more
Great server! Nice menu selections, there is something for everyone. Didn't care for the coffee, VERY strong even when diluted... 50% with hot water. A bit on the bitter side. None of us cared for it. Nice location, can either dine on the patio or inside. Read more
The food is bland. Do not go here if you like to tasty food. It?s great for people who can?t have a lot of seasoning on their... food. Even with salt, pepper and sauce on the food it was still bland. The service was not friendly. The waiter forced herselfto look at me and gave a quick smile then quickly looked away. I?m not sure what was going on but she was more friendly to theother people she was serving. This is why I did not leave a tip. I couldn?t finish the food. Just horrible. I ordered pancakesand they were also bland and the syrup was not sweat at all. I?m disappointed. Read more
We arrived at ~9:15 AM on the Fourth of July. The restaurant was about 75-80% full when we arrived, and remained about that busy... throughout our visit. We were seated promptly outdoors, which despite being on the PCH, wasn't too loud. We ordered the chiliomlette with a biscut and gravy, as well as a french toast plate. Everything was delicious, albeit not super unique, and thiswas our exact expectation and craving! Prices were reasonable, and service was friendly and efficient. We'd definitely comeback for another brunch, with the Eggs Benedict and John Wayne Special both sounding quite tasty. Read more
First time trying this place. I had the Nook Special with Chorizo and Eggs with potatoes. It was just average to me. I expected... more flavors from the eggs and chorizo, in fact it was a bit dry. The salsa help though. The breakfast potatoes was very bland.Need more flavor, salt and hot sauce. The coffee was great and service was accommodating and friendly. Great service, food and staff! We arrived and had the choice to sit outside or inside. We chose inside. Izzy, our server was... wonderful. I ordered the Ruben Sandwich and my husband ordered a cheeseburger. Both items arrived quickly and the food wastasty. The fries are thick steak fries which are nice. I will definitely return here again! Large parking lot outside. The Nookshares the same parking lot as Big Lots, 99 cents Only stores and it is right next door to COLDSTONE ice cream. Read more
First of all, staff was on top of everything, awesome service, friendly staff and the food was great. Had the country fried... steak and wow. If you are a coffee lover, coffee was good, not water down at all. I found my go to restaurant and I highlyrecommend it. Thank you all at Nook's. 8/15 second visit and food and service is still excellent. Highly recommend this placefor an awesome meal. Read more
Nice little cozy place service was the stand out here..food was ok my son's California sandwich was pretty dry, barely any... turkey inside of it mostly all bread, avocado was black inside his sandwich, not worth 15 dlrs, fries were out standing crispyand delicious, my biscuit breakfast was good but needed more flavor so put more pepper but there was plenty of gravy, eggscooked perfectly potato's we're under cooked..so i finished it off with some pumpkin pancakes which were good but notlike"omg!" Pancakes they needed some whip cream to be put over the top.. overall the nook was ok..but not a place that made mesay " this place was so good we gotta go back!" 2 meals & 2 drinks over 50 dlrs????
