Stopped by for the first time. I'm really picky about my pizza. Pizza was wonderful. I asked them to cook it well done, i like... char on the crust and the pizza was fantastic. Thin crispy and the dough is fantastic. I also ordered the meatball sandwich. Honestly, the best meatball sandwich in Long Beach! The bread was on point. There is a lot to like about this place. Usually when a restaurant is not busy during peak hours it is not a good sign, but I... stopped in for lunch anyway and I am glad that I did. I ordered the sausage and peppers sandwich and a drink. My brother orderedthe torpedo sandwich and a drink. Both sandwiches were filled with generous portions and fresh, high quality ingredients and thebread was crusty on the outside, soft inside and delicious. The drinks were serve yourself and in a real glass not a paper cup.Wine is an option, but it was a bit early for me. I don't live nearby, but the next time I am in the area I will certainly stopby and try the other menu items. Overall I consider Portofino Pizzaria to be a true gem ????. Read more
