This place serves Hunan style rice noodles. It's flavorful and the mild spice level is good for those that can't handle spice... well. We got the hot and sour chicken gizzard and the pork belly soup noodles - it was great! Would recommend if you're stayingin Long Island City while traveling but don't want to make it all the way over to Manhattan. Read more

Ordered the pork liver with pepper dry rice noodle, spicy and dine in. Flavor is authentic Hunan style, portion is pretty good... too. I?m very good at eating spicy food and their level 3 Spicy is spicy enough and enjoyable for me. Don?t go extra spicyunless you really wanna challenge yourself. Place is clean and nicely decorated, more of a quick bite noodle spot, not reallyfor formal dine in. They got many take outs and deliveries too, so dine in is not really crowd Read more

My partner and I came here for lunch for the first time yesterday after running a half marathon race in New Rochelle! We live by... Queens Plaza and were craving good hunan food especially noodles and vegan mapo tofu! I'm so glad we came here and I was veryimpressed with the quality of the food-- the portions were generous and it was not NOT overpriced. I especially highly recommendthe vegan mapo tofu! I've tried all the mapo tofu's in the area at the new chinese restaurants but my favorite by far was here! The tofu was deliciously silky and fresh and the sauce was so wonderfully flavored in the best hunan spicy way! I couldn't stopeating it. I love that it was vegetarian and that the portion was huge! I'm coming back again for the mapo tofu and to try moreof the noodle dishes especially the sour vegetable and fish noodle soup. Highly recommend this place! Read more

This was my first time eating there food, it was little expensive but so is everything else thease days. The food was good, you... could probably share the meal it was plentiful. They were a little bust at 1;00 with outgoing orders. But they do have room foryou to sit and eat. Read more

Keepin it real out here in the part of LIC with nothing going on It's a great clean spot for food with great customer service.... The interior is very modern and minimalistic. The food can get spicy depends on what you order and is pretty good overall. Greataddition to that part of LIC since there isn't much going on other than the few luxury rental buildings. Read more

Was looking for a place to have dinner and spotted this place right by the train station. Looked clean and new inside. Ordered... the Bamboo shoots with pork and dry noodles, stewed beef with rice, and the sour and spicy cucumber salad. This place remindedme of when I lived in China, especially the pickled vegetables my mom would buy and use in home cooked dishes. Loved it. Woulddefinitely come back. Also has my favorite herbal tea and plum juice. Read more

This location is the third one for Silky Kitchen. It is located right next to a subway station. It's a good place to stop by... for authentic Hunan noodles if you live, work or are staying in one of the many hotels nearby. Disclaimer, I was given my mealfor free but this is an honest review. I had the hot and sour fish noodles and the stir fried green beans. The spice level canbe adjusted. I chose mild for mine but it was still spicy enough to make my nose run (I can't handle spice). Note that althoughthe dish is fish noodles the soup uses a meat base. The soup contains pickled vegetable greens and can be an acquired taste, butI am accustomed to it and enjoyed it. There was plenty of fish and was very filling. The noodles is indeed silky and smooth. Thegreen beans are delicious, highly recommended! There are plenty of seats and the space is modern and clean. If you crave for authentic Hunan rice noodles in LIC, this is the place to be. So happy to see they finally opened in my... neighborhood. The portion is great, you get a lot of toppings that pair with the rice noodles like picked cabbage and sourstring beans, the protein was made to order by a dedicated wok person, exactly like how it was done in Hunan China, the broth isreal pork bone broth that packed separately and tasted good by itself. You can get a lot of options that you can?t find itelsewhere in NYC, like ???? (cuttlefish and pork ribs), ???? (pork liver with pork) also Hunan Style beef. Also some sweetsspecialities like sweet rice cake ???? and fried tofu that are unique Hunan dishes. There are also panfried And they can make itREALLY spicy based on your own choice, spicier than you would normally get. Enjoy! Read more
