I wanted to absolutely love this place especially as a local. Let me start with that I liked - the ambiance is incredible and... very nicely done especially for being a previous gas station. The food was tasty - the LBK bowl did not disappoint. Here?s whatI didn?t love - Service was very slow (we were seated and had to go track down a waiter 20 mins after being seated), we wereserved a dirty water glass (found lipstick) and we found hair in the side of honey that comes with the parfait. The ambiance was great. Chicken sandwich was just a basic chicken sandwich, would have been great if the chicken was not so... tough. It was overcooked. The steak sandwich was just ok, and we asked for extra sauce which made it taste slightly better. Thesteak was ordered medium but came out well-done The worst part was the service. We waited and waited for our server to refillour water and request the sauce. After about 30 mins another table behind us was chasing after the waiter as well because he wasnot giving them their check. We finally just went to the bar to ask for water and get the sauce which we got right away. Ourwaiter was working very hard I never saw him stop once, I actually felt bad for him, perhaps there needs to be extra staff to beable to handle larger crowds. The laidback beach vibe of this place is perfect! The building used to be a gas station and I love that they retained much of... the architecture. The staff were friendly and attentive. I appreciated that they were extra respectful and accommodating to anolder gentleman who had an obvious disability and required special seating. The food was wonderful. We got the queso for theappetizer, which was heavenly. I got the Whitney Burger and the fiancé got the mixed salad w/ champagne vinaigrette. Wefinished off the meal with their famous key lime pie. It was loaded with whipped cream and white chocolate shavings. There arerestrooms outside. A bonus is that the Whitney Beach access is literally right across the road and Beer Can Island beach accessis just up the road. This place is a gem. Read more
Absolutely recommend! My wife and I had an amazing experience here. They have relaxed, retro atmosphere by the beach, full of... palm trees and tropical flowers. Our server was very friendly and accommodated us and our little dog very well. They have agreat drink menu and the food was delicious. Get the grilled chicken sandwich or avocado toast! This place is a vibe. From the moment you walk in through the main entrance until you are seated, everything looks so good. The... decoration and color scheme throughout the space is on point. Website has a great design which extends into the decoration ofthe restaurant itself as well. There is a lot of attention to detail which I?m sure translates into the amount of people insideand waiting for a table. We had to wait about 30 min for our table as it is first come first served. There was a firepit at theentrance which was nice to sit by. After a few minutes we then headed to the back where they have a set of cornhole. Even thecornhole set itself had their design on it, again? the attention to detail is impressive! We were then sat next to the bar and Iwould say smack in the middle of the inside area of Whitney?s (the outdoor seating looked like so much fun too!). The inside isvery open so there was great flow throughout. We started off with the donut holes, which were phenomenal, perfect sweet andcinnamon sprinkled all over. We then started working on the guac and chips. Chips were fine, not really hot, not cold, average.Guac was also fine, tastes good but nothing mind blowing about it. LBK Bowl was good. Simple yet great. Then finished it offwith the cheeseburger. Fries were crunchy and tasted great, burger was also another great pick. They?re known for it. Patty wasjuicy and cheese was melted to perfection. Lettuce was crispy too which complimented the texture of the sand which as a whole.There was also live music which further added to the whole vibe. Super friendly and welcoming staff! I loved the ambiance and the service we received. Their slushy drink is to die for!! Our... server also went above and beyond. I?m giving this place 4 stars because the Cod I ordered was a little tasteless and my sisterfound her chips to be tasteless as well. Had a girls gathering for a baby shower here and wish I could rate this place greater than five stars. Everything was... perfection! The service, the ambience, and food were all wonderful. Super cute, retro place to eat! We ordered the ricotta donut holes which were super fluffy!! My main course was the egg Sammy... and the bread was fantastic, buttery and fluffy! Our waitress was super friendly and it was pretty quick, took an hour fromwalking in to walking out! Definitely a recommendation for something casual and fun! Read more
