I am surprised I am not giving this place a 4 or 5. I have been here twice before and the food/service has been great. Today,... s3rvice was great, but I didn't get exactly what I ordered. I received a medium shake when I ordered a large. As well as totswith my son's hot dog instead of the chips I asked for. I hope I didn't get charged for a large shake, since I didn't receiveit. I?ve ordered from Dog & Cone a multitude of times and would generally give them 5 stars? BUT today was the absolute worst! To... start with only half of my order was in the bag. And the other half - a Southern Dog was so very disappointing. The bun had beenmicrowaved I think because it was hard on the outside making it inedible. So the dog and toppings got scrapped onto the top halfof the container. The chili was super thin and had NO flavor at all, and the coleslaw was an attempt only. I was only able toget a few bites in before calling it quits. And what chips there were looked like someone crushed them before putting them inthe container. Even the baked beans, which I normally love, were so sweet I couldn?t eat them either. Tonight was a totalwaste of money and time!! I can only hope this was an ?OFF? day and not the new normal! Tl;Dr - Good food, good prices. Put some in your face. Long version: My first impression is it's pretty dang good! The... highlight for me is the gyro. It was fresh and zingy and well seasoned. The "Trainwreck", I realized, was essentially a DQblizzard, one of their dessert items. But the one I got I left the flavors up to the cool peeps there. They filled it withOreos, peanut butter cups, and espresso beans. It slapped. The side with the hotdog is their Chili Cheese Tots. It's a solidside, good flavor. The only thing is that I would've liked the tots just a bit crispier. It kinda mushes after a littlebit. The Cowboy hotdog had a really good all-beef frank. All the flavors (BBQ sauce, sauteed onions, cheese, and bacon) wereall good. But I don't think this falvor combo is for me. For context, I've tried this combo in other foods elsewhere and itdidn't jive with me then. So, with that said I can't say more on the hotdog. I'll have to go back and try other hotdogs. Read more
Just go. Get what looks good to you, it will be delicious. I totally dig the gyros. My daughter loves the tuna salad, and my... fella says he'll get the cowboy dog again. I think the dole whip is too sweet, but my guy is totally fine eating it himself. Read more
4 1/2 stars Darling little caboose that doubles as a food truck. We enjoyed the old-school vibe, reminiscent of a drive-n-... eat Friendly service, fun, innovative fast food, with some healthy options. Our grandsons enjoyed the hotdog meal which camewith a fun little surprise in the form of a gummy hot dog. They enjoyed their meal and visit to the caboose. My husband hadpotato salad and the chicken Gyro which was quite authentic and tasty. Update: Our Grandson loves the Dog and Cone so much thathe came home and made his own! It was ok ,the beans looked and taste like they were on the burner a lil too long;so flavor was saturated and mushy. German... potato salad was interesting, the slaw was good, crunch, sweet and tangy. The brisket is where I felt like it was undercookedvery chewy. The pulled pork were big chunks which was tasty.
