We picked The Shipyards based on how unique the venue was and I am so glad we did. Michelle was great to work with and responded... to (all of my many) texts and emails. Our wedding was over 2 weeks ago and our guests are still talking about how cool the spacewas! The view of the water is gorgeous, the string lights make it extra special, the ramp going up was fun for us to getintroduced out of, the train car bar, just so many unique parts to this venue that made us fall in love with it. We've alsodined in the boiler room several times and the food and service is always excellent! If we didn't live an hour away, we'd likebe in a few times per month. Thank you to all for ensuring our wedding day was perfect! Read more

1) Staff has other things to do than serving you. Their friends at the bar are more important and will get a LOT more attention... than you, as it should be because you are just there to buy some supper and spend money. Be prepared to get up and ask for morewater/drinks when you need them, and also be prepared to wait about 30 min for just a menu before the server can pull herselfaway from from her pals at the bar. 2) We got two sets of silverware for the five of us. No joke, I got up and asked for more ( server was over at the bar hanging out with friends) and was told that was all they had at the time. I kid you not, we orderedfood that we didn't need silverware for. when the food came, I told the server that we still needed silverware and she replied"OK" and went back over to the bar. After eating, while we were waiting for the bill, somebody brought out the much neededsilverware to our table. That was a nice touch. 3) After all of this this the food was just average. not great, but what canyou expect when you get this kind of great service. 4) I spent 119.00 on food and drinks in there last night. I will neverspend another dime in that place until they get new management/staff. If you go there to eat a meal you will be about fifth onthe list of importance. they should just go full bar and drop the dining part. Read more

I had an avocado appetizer unbelievable. Never had it before and a totally new taste. Then I had the meatloaf dinner with the... meatloaf on cauliflower mash and green beans. A short rib gravy topped the large portion of savory meatloaf, full of flavor. Aroll would have been a nice compliment and that is the only complaint I have. The Tito's and soda with a twist of lime finishedit off. All in all I can't wait to go back. Went back and our server Makenzie B was excellent. Very good food, very good drinks Read more

I am giving this place three stars for the nice view and the outstanding service we had from Ashley. She really is a super... friendly server who really makes you feel like a valued guest. Unfortunately, our dinners didn't measure up. I had the cedarplanked salmon. It pretty much was like a grocery store version (about a 6 ounce cut) that was overly cooked. The broccolini wasrubbery and my Ceasars salad lettuce was average. I probably would not complain, but for $24 I would have expected it to be muchbetter. My wife had the steak and blue. This was an okay dish, but it was a bit heavy on the blue cheese. That overpowered thetortellini and steak. The sauce would have been fine if there was less of it. It just covered the taste of the medallions andpasta. This is a place I really wanted to be good. The Iocation is great. Perhaps a sandwich would have been a better choice,or perhaps the walleye. Driving to this restaurant is literally like driving to a once-busy waterfront. Boats and vessels all around, an industrial feel... to the area. The spacious red-brick building itself in former ship yard. It houses an event center and a restaurant: The BoilerRoom. The lively atmosphere is a cross between an English pub (with high ceilings) and a family restaurant. The menu hadtempting meat and fish dishes. We had been driving all day, eating roadstop food, and opted for side dishes. I had ginger rice, cauliflower mash and Brussels sprouts. My husband ordered the soup of the day - an onion soup and the hummus platter. The sideswere great, the cauliflower mash tasted like garlic mashed potatoes and the Brussels sprouts were fresh and well seasoned . Thesoup tasted fresh with just enough salt. The staff was professional and helpful, they even carried our forgotten charge card tous in the car before we left the parking lot! Read more

I was kinda nervous because some of the reviews were like it's just "okay". Let me give you my thoughts. We sat outside the view... was great! We waited probably 5 or more minutes before anyone came over to us. Matt was our server and he was fantastic!Helpful, funny and just really good at his job! The food was yummy, drinks were cold and Matt made sure we never had emptybeers! People also were complaining about the price? I think its on par with any other restaurant! Our beers were only $6!Anyway I will be back for sure, mostly because Matt made it a great experience and the view was great! Read more

Very cool spot. First time I've tried it. Food and service were good. Atmosphere was nice as well. Good draft list also. Would... definitely go back. I enjoyed the Lake Erie Monster, fried Walleye sandwich. Huge. Became a fork and knife effort, the sandwichwas so big. Update: Went back and realized that I hadn't done justice to this spot. They unfortunately had basically no food andwere closing early. So, I took a bunch of exterior pictures, pretty nice! Enjoy! Read more
