A friend took me to try this place. Ordered the calamari and the ceviche as appetizers. Loved the shrimp appetizer. For the main... course I ordered CIOPPINO. It was great as tou get to sample all kinds of seafood items Ina savory tomatoe sauce. We sat outsideand it was a great choice. Atmosphere and weather was perfect. Been there twice, had a good time both visits. I don't know much about oysters specifically, but the person I went with went on... about "the small ones here are great", and I trust their opinion when it comes to oyster quality. The other non-oyster dishes Itried were pleasant and somewhat reserved on their flavoring. Other seafood places I've been to seem to like putting lots ofsalt and other spices in the dishes, this place is a bit more subtle about it which puts more emphasis on the texture. Located at nice neighbourhood with outdoor sitting is lovely. Oysters a rather disappointing as there seems dry without any... juices on the shelled oyster. The lobster pasta and steam mussel pot kind of too bland to my liking. The pizza with the sweetsauce on it a rather unique.. the lovely shrimp ceviche tacos is yummy. The crab cake is just average. Top notch and very fresh oysters as they are well known for. The cioppino had a good balance of tomatoes and herbs with generous... amount of seafood. The linguine in the pot was well overcooked and felt as soft as the flaky salmon pieces. The service isattentive. Prices are high/standard bay area lunacy. Meal for two with 2 beers at $170! Came here on a Friday night on a date and was seated right away! Good: The portion size of the cioppino was really good and I... really liked the taste of it - very savory and great amount of seafood in it. It wasn't the best I've had, but the linguinihelped make it a filling dish and the garlic bread was really good. The grilled oysters were really good too - you don't get alot with the price tag, so we got 6 and shared between 2 people. The ambiance here is good for a date night. The waiters arevery attentive and prompt. Bad: The rustic house pasta didn't have much flavor - super bland and felt like it wasn't worth theprice tag. This place is a more expensive place, so don't be shocked if you have to shell out a good amount of money for theamount of food you get. Great food. Fresh seafood. Friendly and prompt service! Was able to make reservation for 12. We got seated promptly. We had... a dozen of raw and grilled oysters. Both were delicious but we liked the raw one more. Really, really fresh! Overall a solid experience - highly recommend reserving since there seems to be plenty available. One of the best lobster rolls... eaten with the right amount of sauce, flavor, crunch with celery! Even got one to-go for my parents. The oysters were fresh aswell as the scallops in the pasta and the calamari, which was a bit oily for me. Would recommend and come back with more lovedones!
